Chapter 176
Sophia’s face looked darker as she took out her phone. The alarm kept ringing, a red exclamation mark flashed on the screen. Her presse Pres to both Rollie and her computer — the system would send an alert if anyone tried to hack it.
Rollie was at the Chandler residence while her computer stayed in the dorm. Sophia’s eyes darkened as she tapped her phone, showing that sortor had used her computer.
A cold smile appeared on Sophia’s face as she saw three suspicious people hanging around near the hospital entrance. Dorian saw her and gave her a playful wave.
Sophia adjusted her cap and walked over to Dorian, saying directly, “Tell your driver to take us back to school.”
“Sure,” Dorian answered.
Maelis thought about offering them a ride, but when she remembered her sports car only had two seats, she just stayed quiet. When Dorian’s driver arrived, Maelis slipped into the back seat.
Dorian blinked. “Don’t you have your own car?”
Maelis sat still. “I don’t feel like driving today.”
Dorian asked, “Sophia, why the quick rush back to school? Did something happen?”
Knowing how sharp he was, Sophia looked at him. “Nothing.”
Dorian let it go. Maelis joined in, “Sophia, did you watch those kitten videos I sent? That little furball’s getting cuter every day – the way it mews is just so adorable!”
“Stop sending me thase. I don’t like them,” Sophia said bluntly.
But Maelis kept going, “Just try watching them. You’ll end up loving them. Kittens are just too cute!”
Sophia turned her face away and closed her eyes, clearly shutting down the talk. The car was quiet until her phone suddenly buzzed. Her eyes snapped open, sharp and alert. It was a message from Yandel.
Yandel: [Sophia, we actually found something at Octavia’s house! Sophia, thank you.]
Seeing the message, Sophia curled her lips in disgust. ‘Took him days to find? Yandel’s really useless,‘ she thought.
Sophia: [Hold on to your thanks. I can help you, but I have conditions.]
Yandel: [Tell me the terms. As long as you help me get back my inheritance in three months, ask for anything.]
Sophia thought, ‘He sees a little hope and he’s already happy. Good.‘
Sophia: [The Daltons have been famous jewelry makers in Harveston for over a hundred years. You have your own diamond lab. I want to borrow your
lab.]
Yandel’s pupils widened when he saw the message, his hand trembling as he held his phone. He swallowed hard.
Yandel: [How do you know our family has a diamond lab?]
Sophia: [That’s not a secret.]
Yandel thought, ‘The Daltons spent a lot to build that lab five years ago. Since we never made good diamonds, it was never made public. Even inside the family, most only know there’s some mysterious lab – they don’t know it’s for diamonds.‘

Yandel: What do you want the lab for?]
He thought, “If it was anything else, I’d agree right away, but this involves our lab.
Sophia: [Just borrow some equipment. I won’t touch anything else. Relax, nothing shadyfjust want to make some speriat mimal asylu (mas
Sophia rubbed her temples. She thought, ‘Those metal parts for Rollie cost me over 30 thousand, but they still aren’t tough enough.
‘Maybe i should try making something stronger

‘Buying all the stuff myself would be super expensive not worth it. The Daltons already have a lab, which is just what I need.
Yandel: [I can let you use the lab, but can I be there when you meet my grandpa?] Yandel felt uneasy.
Sophia: [Fine.]
With the lab set, Sophia hummed a happy tune, clearly in a good mood.
“Sophia, what’s that song you’re humming? It’s really nice,” Maelis asked, curious.
Sophia paused, the melody fading. She looked down, lost in thought. “No idea. Just humming whatever comes to mind,” she answered.
She looked out the window, a strange look in her eyes. ‘I feel like I’m forgetting something,’ she thought.
Ever since that knife incident, she clearly remembered the extra memory that came up- Sophia pressed her aching forehead, silently saying the word in her mind.
“Sophia, we’re at Jelasburg University,” Maelis’s voice broke her thoughts.
Sophia pulled herself together, pushing all those questions to the back of her mind.

a huge anger and hatred she could never forget. “Intruder,”
Peggy and Diana were in the dorm. When Sophia and Maelis entered, Diana came up to them happily and said, “Sophia, you’re back!”
Sophia put her hands in her pockets, tilted her head, and looked at Diana. “You messed with my computer.”
