Chapter 180
Sophia pretended not to recognize him and asked, “And who exactly is your boss?”
The secretary chuckled and said, “Ms. Chandler, you must be joking. We’ve met before, remember?”
Sophia took a bite of her apple, shrugged, and said, “My memory’s terrible. Can’t recall a thing”
The secretary’s expression stiffened slightly before replying awkwardly, “My boss is Larson.”
Sophia blinked, feigning innocence, and said, “Larson? Oh, you mean Larson Rose seduced? What could he possibly want with me?”
The secretary looked awkward and said, “Ms. Chandler, you’ll find out when you come along.”
“Me? Go to him?” Sophia pointed at herself as if she’d just heard the most ridiculous joke. “Sir, are you mistaken? Larson wants to see me, not the other way around.”
“If he wants to see me, tell him to come here himself,” Sophia said dismissively, turning on her heel and striding into the hospital room.
Jonathan, who was on the phone, suddenly stopped talking, turned to her, and snapped, “Why are you here again?”
Sophia took another bite of her apple, eyes wide as she glared at Jonathan. “I never left, you know. Jonathan, you’re so eager to get rid of me. Are you trying to weasel out of paying what you owe?”
“No way. Unless you cough up millions today, don’t even think about me taking a single step out of this hospital room.” With that, she flopped down on the sofa, crossed her legs, and swung her foot lazily.
Jonathan’s eye twitched in frustration. ‘Fine, let her do whatever she wants,‘ he thought, resigning himself to the situation.
Jonathan thought Sophia would leave soon, but to his surprise, she made herself at home, lounging on the sofa, glued to her phone the entire morning without uttering a word.
Jonathan cleared his throat and said, “Sophia, it’s noon already. Aren’t you going out for lunch? You’ve been staring at your phone all morning. Give eyes a break.”
Still glued to her phone, Sophia didn’t even look up. “I just ordered delivery. It’ll be here any minute.”

Jonathan stared, shocked. “You want me to eat takeout?”
Sophia glanced at him and said, “Don’t get your hopes up. I ordered takeout for myself. Huh, Jonathan, how come Heather hasn’t shown up with your lunch yet?”
Jonathan knew Sophia was a master at getting under his skin, yet he still couldn’t help but get annoyed. As if it wasn’t enough that Heather hadn’t shown up, she wasn’t even answering his calls. The whole thing was driving Jonathan crazy.
Jonathan stared at the takeout Sophia had ordered, utterly speechless. “You’re actually eating this?”
Sophia grabbed a handful of skewers, lamb, pork tenderloin, and even grilled shrimp–all new discoveries she’d recently made. Along with those, was a chicken burger, some wings, fries, and a large Coke.
Sophia munched on the skewers with a smug grin and showed off. “All mine–every last bite.”
Jonathan watched as she devoured the food with relish, his face twisting into a complicated expression of disbelief and resignation.
Sophia took a sip of Coke and sneered, “Jonathan, is that guilty conscience written all over your face?”
Jonathan froze. ‘Guilty? Why on earth would I feel guilty?‘ he wondered.

Chapter 180
Sophia smiled with cryptle amusement and said, “Feeling guilty for never caring about me? For ignoring me all these years? As My you’ve never paid any attention to me, barely even looked at me. Care to explain why?”
Jonathan’s hands clenched unconsciously on the blanket. “Well, I have to work every day, I’m really busy. Your mother handles everything at herne
he stammered, guiltily passing the buck to Heather.
Sophia chuckled, “Fine, I won’t blame you. I’ll just blame Heather instead.”
Jonathan opened his mouth, wanting to stop her, but ultimately remained silent.
Sophia was practically in stitches. She said into her phone, “Heather, you heard that, right? Jonathan’s blaming if all on you?
Jonathan stared at her in shock and blurted out, “When did you-
Sophia shrugged with exaggerated innocence and said, “I called Heather to
to bring you lunch. Guess she just happened to hear everything.
‘How perfectly reasonable. There is no way I can even blame her,’ he wondered. Jonathan was absolutely fuming.
Heather arrived with the lunchbox but gave Jonathan the cold shoulder. Jonathan idea how to even begin.
“Heather?” Jonathan began hesitantly.
Heather thrust the lunchbox into his hands and snapped, “Eat it yourself.”

Jonathan sighed and wondered, ‘Fine, I’ll eat it myself.’ But the moment he took a bite, his face contorted in disgust, and he spat it out. “What the hell did you put in this? It’s way too salty.”
Sophia burst out laughing. “Besides salt, what else could she have put in? Poison?”
Jonathan’s face contorted. He scrambled off the hospital bed and rushed to rinse out his mouth.
Sophia gasped dramatically, “Jonathan, don’t tell me you’re actually poisoned.”
Heather’s expression turned stormy as she struggled to suppress her fury.
Seeing the looks on the couple’s faces, Sophia couldn’t help but gloat inwardly.
After rinsing his mouth, Jonathan flopped back onto the hospital bed and shut his eyes tightly.
After finishing her skewers, Sophia walked out of the hospital room. Heather hesitated for a moment, then followed her out. “Sophia?”
Seeing Heather hesitate, looking conflicted, Sophia knew what was on her mind. “Just spit it out.”
Heather plucked up her courage and said, “I’ve been thinking a lot these past few days. You’re right. Even after thirty years, I still haven’t gotten into his heart. It’s time I let go.”
Heather’s eyes.welled up
with tears. “But you know what? I just can’t let it go. I really, really can’t-”
