Sophie walked back into the room and saw Colby trying to take a stroll. She rushed over to support him and scolded, “The doctor said you shouldn’t be walking around. Why don’t you ever listen?”
“My body recovers faster than most people’s,” Colby replied casually.
“Don’t give me that. Even though the venom’s out of your system, you’re still weak. I know you’re itching to get back to Devonport to mess with Reeves International.”
Realizing Sophie was in on his plan, Colby guessed she must have gotten the info from Griffin.
“So, you know.”
“Of course, I know. Did you really think you could handle this behind my back?”
Sophie playfully tapped Colby on the forehead, “You’re always tapping me, so it’s my turn. There’s no need to go after Reeves International. I never really wanted Burke International. If Elodie likes it, she can have it.”
“I know,” Colby said, tucking a stray lock of Sophie’s hair behind her ear. “But I can’t stand the thought of someone taking what rightfully belongs to my wife.”
He could see that Sophie had always been fixated on Burke International. If he could secure it for her, he’d be more than happy to do so.
“Griffin told me you had an agenda when you first approached me because I was James’s wife. Now that we’re married, it’s just to cement your position as the top dog in Devonport.”
Sophie watched Colby closely. Sure enough, he looked uncharacteristically nervous. “That’s not true! I didn’t!”

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
