Right Person, Wrong Time novel Chapter 981

Chapter 981 Starting to Feel Sick Again

It was fortunate that Nicole had run straight to the trash can as soon as she felt the wave of nausea rising within her. Otherwise, she would have thrown up all over the floor by now.

She clutched at the trash can tightly, vomiting until her entire complexion went pale. Having eaten some sour straws candy yesterday, her appetite had significantly improved in the morning. She had eaten quite a large breakfast as a result, so throwing up now was very taxing on her body.

Leaning against the trash can, she threw up until the contents of her stomach were empty. Only then did she finally stop retching.

An expression of worry immediately surfaced on Roger's face when he saw Nicole's condition. His large figure leaned forward. Just as he was about to walk to her side, he was stopped by Colton.

Colton took the lead and walked over to Nicole instead. Reaching out his hand, he patted her on the back to soothe her. His voice was filled with concern.

"Are you okay? Does it hurt?"

Nicole had vomited so much that her head was spinning, but she dazedly shook her head. Her mouth was currently filled with an unbearable aftertaste.

He took out a bottle of water, seemingly out of thin air. Then, he handed the bottle to her.

Nicole took the bottle from him and rinsed out the residual taste in her mouth. Her stomach was completely empty now. Had she known that she would vomit everything in the end, she would not have eaten so much for breakfast.

When she finished rinsing out her mouth, he handed her a paper napkin. She wiped her mouth clean and then exhaled wearily.

"Boss, w-what's wrong?" Although Roger's appearance made him seem rather tough and rough around the edges, he was actually quite delicate inside.

Nicole shook her head and faintly replied, "It's nothing. I might have worked too hard recently and upset my stomach as a result. It's no big deal."

Seeing that she did not wish to answer his question, he did not pursue the matter further. He simply stared at Colton intently.

At the mention that she was pregnant, Nicole involuntarily glared at him angrily. If not for his insistence that night... Forget it. She retracted her gaze. I was at fault too. We were both accomplices in that incident. After all, I had too much to drink that night and couldn't control myself either...

"Let's return for now. The people from Undercity won't be able to discover anything so soon, so it will probably take some time for Roy to obtain results," she said tiredly. Pregnancy was truly an uncomfortable experience for her.

"Okay. I'll send you home. Julian is monitoring the situation, so nothing major will happen. I'll send word to you as soon as we have news," he cooed softly. Then, he reached out to wrap his arm around her so that she could lean against his body for support.

Struggling to break free, she shoved him away with both hands and snapped angrily, "We are still at the hotel. There are too many eyes and ears here. Don't make such intimate gestures."

He glanced at her shy expression and raised his eyebrows at her. Chuckling softly, he whispered in her ear, "Why can't we be intimate with each other, Nicole? You're so cruel. We've practically done everything, including the wedding ceremony. What is there to fear?"

The roguish expression on his face instantly made her want to punch him in the face.
