"Follow me" he said. I swallowed hard. I followed Ferris till we got to a door. He opened the door, revealing a big luxurious looking room. He guided me inside, and I stood there.
"Wait here," Ferris said. He stepped out of the room for a moment and returned with a maid following close behind.
"Take care of her," he instructed the maid "Make sure she has everything she needs." The maid nodded. Before I could say anything else, Ferris left the room, banging the door behind him. I was more confused than ever. What the hell just happened?
FERRIS' POV
As I left Elise's room, I felt more annoyed than before.
I couldn't believe the audacity of Jackson, the sheer nerve of him to want to lay a hand on Elise.
My fists were still clenched, and I could feel the heat of my fury coursing through my veins. I needed to calm down, to clear my head, and think rationally about what to do next. I made my way to my office and closed the door behind me, shutting out the world.
I sank into the chair behind my desk. My mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, all centered around Elise. Has Jackson hit her before? The thought of Elise being hurt my Jackson made me clench my fists so tightly that my mails drew blood.
I went to the palace to see Jackson because I heard he was waiting for me for a while. Imagine I didn't show up when I did. What would have happened? He would have hurt her. Elise's face flashed in my mind. The sight of her eyes wide with fear filled my mind. I couldn't shake the image, and it only increased my anger.
But alongside that anger was something else. There was something deeper and more confusing. I had a powerful attraction to Elise that I couldn't deny. Her scent still lingered in my mind, a mix of Jasmine, vanilla and something uniquely her. It was intoxicating.
