In the confined space of the elevator, Remington whispered into Lizetta's ear, his sigh a mix of frustration and desire, "Rejected again, huh?"
Pressed against the cold, unyielding elevator wall, Lizetta tried to find solace in its chill, but it did little to calm the storm of emotions inside her. Her voice came out tense, "Yes, now step back...ugh."
Her attempt to scold him was abruptly cut short as Remington's lips captured her earlobe in a gentle bite, sending a tingling sensation down her spine that made her knees weak.
Flustered, Lizetta's eyes reddened as she glared at Remington, torn between embarrassment and anger.
"Don't look at me with that mix of shyness and annoyance. It's hard to resist," Remington's voice was husky, his Adam's apple bobbing as he spoke. The night before, he had been as giddy as a teenager on his first date because of her invitation, working through the night until dawn, restless, with thoughts of her invading his dreams.
Those dreams were vivid and left him in a mess upon waking. And right now, he wanted nothing more than to make those dreams a reality.
His gaze darkened, his intentions clear and unmasked, filled with raw desire.
"Shut up!" Lizetta's cheeks flushed a deeper shade of red as she cut him off, her indignation clear.
She was like a kitten with its fur standing on end, adorable rather than intimidating.
"Alright, I'll be quiet," Remington couldn't help but smile, miming zipping his lips in a gesture of obedience, but his eyes still blazed with possessiveness and desire, his body inching closer to hers.
His words were those of a gentleman, but his physical reaction told a different story.
"Then back off!" Lizetta was fuming, finding him utterly unreasonable.
They were in a hospital elevator, for heaven's sake. What was he thinking? Had some strange hormone been injected into him?

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
