The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1771

“Pivotage is the soil which I rely upon to survive. It’s where a bat like me, who has adapted to the dark, feels most at home. I don’t need another choice.”

She had to keep her distance from him while there was still a chance.

“If I wanted to take you away to a place where Christopher’s influence could not reach, would you come with me?” Drew stared at her deeply, never more seriously.

“No.”

Yvonne did not hesitate. Her smile was a blend of light and tears. “I belong to Mr. Christopher, whether in life or death.”

Drew slowly straightened his back, his reddened eyes turning cold again as he undid two more buttons on his black shirt. “I understand your feelings. In that case, let’s get down to business.”

“What… Business?” The man’s thoughts jumped too suddenly, and Yvonne failed to follow.

“It’s midnight in a hotel room, and it’s just you and me. What kind of business could it be? Play cards?”

Drew’s gaze was mocking and cold, completely devoid of the gentleness she fell in love with. “Are you showering first, or me? Or should we bathe together?”

Yvonne closed her eyes and shook her head. “I’ll leave now. I won’t disturb your rest.”

After that, she wanted to leave, but the man quickly grabbed her waist, pulling her back under his icy stare. “Why, are you mad? How could we sleep together without bathing?”

“Mad? I don’t have the right.”

Yvonne threw a seductive gaze, but a bitter lump formed in her throat. “Mr. Brown, does a high and mighty noble gentleman like you really want to sleep with a woman like me? No matter how many times I bathe, I can never wash away the dirt on me.”

Drew’s lips curled up, cocky and unruly. “I know what type of person you are. Since I brought you out, it means I don’t care.”

“But I care!” Yvonne could not hold back her emotions anymore, shouting in a trembling voice.
