"I know, of course I know, but if you want me to help you, at least, you have to show me you're sincere, right?"
Leo eyed Meredith up and down. He wondered how it felt like to get laid with the woman in front of him.
"Beg me and I'll tell you."
Meredith looked at Leo's face and thought that the man was a beast dressed as a human, which explained why every word he said was filthy.
Although she really wanted to slap him before she left, if this was the only way to get useful information, then she would just bear with it.
She would just take him as a barking dog.
"Then let's go out and find a place to talk."
Meredith compromised, and a glimmer of gloating flashed across Leo's face.
He thought that no matter how apathetic she pretended to be, she still fell on his lap.
...
After Derek left Asher's company, he went to find Jameson.
Jameson was having a party in the private room of a bar. As soon as he opened the door, Derek saw him sitting in the middle of the sofa, relishing being surrounded by beautiful women.
Jameson was a hedonist and never allowed himself to get trapped in a relationship. He lived his life like playing a game.
Derek could not accept his style in the past, but now looking at him, he suddenly felt that it was not bad. At least he was free without romantic entanglements.
"What's up?"
Jameson saw Derek coming, patted the shoulders of the two sexy girls beside him, and motioned them to make room.
Derek was a rare visitor. He didn't come to a place like this normally.
"Nothing."
Derek did not know where to begin with what had happened recently.
Chloe's sudden return disrupted his life and his heart.
He had thought that after he in adolescence fell head over ears in love with that girl, he might no longer fall in love with any woman, but in the end, he had a feeling for Meredith.
That was a feeling that Chloe had never given him before.
"Is it because Chloe is back?"
Jameson shook his head at the thought of what Chloe had done last time and felt that she was being unreasonable.
Love was never something that could be obtained by force. If you lost something, you lost it forever. There was no chance of recovering it.
"I know very well that it is over between me and her."
Derek opened a bottle of beer and took a swig. The bitter taste made him frown but also brought him a different kind of pleasure.
"Then why's that face? What's wrong? Is it because of that woman?"
Jameson soon got the key point, but he thought Derek was better than bothering himself with a woman.
The last time he brought her to his place, Jameson had already noticed something was wrong between the two of them.
