When Derek looked at the concern in her eyes, his heart raced inexplicably.
Seeing that he didn't answer, Meredith thought that he was hurt because of her clumsiness. She was a little anxious. "I'd better call the nurse back. I..."
She was so clumsy. She didn't want to mess it up.
"No need. You continue."
Derek held her wrist, and the warmth of his hand transmitted to her body, calming her uneasy heart.
"Then if you feel uncomfortable, tell me."
With that said, Meredith continued to do what she had just done. As she applied the medicine, she looked at the man's face.
She was used to what he looked like, so she didn't pay much attention to his appearance. However, when she suddenly got so close, she found that Derek's skin was actually so good that it was even fairer than some women who had shelled out money on their skins. There were no flaws on his skin even seen in such a close distance.
Some people might have been favored by god since he was born.
Meredith's heart was in a mess, especially when Derek's dark and deep eyes were fixed on her. Under his gaze, she finally finished applying the ointment. When she was about to put it away, her hand suddenly shook and some ointment was dropped somewhere else.
Looking at the ointment on Derek's forehead, Meredith wanted to laugh, but she was also a little scared. She quickly stood up to get a tissue to clean his forehead.
"I can see you are not being modest by saying you were clumsy before."
Derek watched Meredith looking for a tissue in a flurry. Although she was so anxious, she just couldn't find it.
Meredith was speechless. She was being unusually clumsy because she was flustered by the look in his eyes.
Being stared at with that kind of gaze, even a rock would probably have a reaction.
"I didn't mean to." Meredith mumbled and finally found a tissue to clean the ointment on Derek's forehead.
She was anxious to do her job, so she didn't notice how close the two of them were now. Derek could only feel her long hair fluttering gently in front of him, making his thoughts wander.
Meredith did not use perfume, so there was no strong fragrance, but a faint sweet aroma lingering around.
"What's the matter?" Seeing that he was silent, Meredith thought that she had done something wrong again. She looked over only to meet his eyes which were as deep as the ocean.
The next moment, the man's delicate and handsome features were magnified in front of her eyes. Meredith even felt that she could hear the sound of his breathing.
Then, his warm lips were pressed on hers and his tongue stuck into her mouth with an overbearing pressure.
Meredith was startled and tried to push Derek away, but her hands were still stained with the ointment she had just accidentally gotten, so she could only let the man get his way.
Meredith's mind went blank because of this sudden kiss.
Why did he...kiss her?
Meredith found it hard to breathe, so she couldn't care much about the stains and put her hands on Derek's chest to stop him.
She was suffocating.
Seeing that Meredith was out of breath, Derek finally let her go.
"Next time, learn to breathe, OK?"
Meredith already blushed. When she heard this, she felt blood rushing to her brain, and that it was so hot that she was about to evaporate.
"Did you suddenly...lose your mind?"
Meredith then remembered that the door to the ward was unlocked. What if someone came in?
Derek always did anything at will.
