Jared's smile instantly vanished as he gripped the documents in his hand tighter.
He was still the same as before, unable to stay calm. How on earth could the Langley family let him represent them at a business meeting with me? The absurdity of it all.
"Mr. Joplin, you shouldn't say no to money. Besides, I'm representing Langley Group."
"You're right."
When he found out I was deliberately messing with him, Jared looked even more furious. I happily sat opposite him and looked at the proposal he brought with him.
"Did you draft this?"
A toddler would be able to come up with a better proposal.
"Rewrite this." I never had much patience to begin with, and Jared was a slow one. Having a business meeting with him would destroy any patience left in me.
"Your proposal didn't even mention the main point. What's the objective of this project? How much is the budget? It's not even written."
Most of it was just a bunch of phony grandiose stuff that would not work at all. I had not seen such a badly written business proposal in such a long time.
"If you want me to do business with Langley Group, you have to at least give me something."
I wasn't running a charity organization.
"This was the deal you previously made. You just have to sign…"
"Jared, you've been in the business for so many years. Did you climb up to this position relying on your naivety?"
"What do you mean by that?" Jared was a little irked.
But I couldn't be bothered with niceties. "If I were you, I wouldn't even dare to submit this proposal to a small company, let alone if you're submitting it using Langley Group's name."
If this proposal had been written by Jared, he should just quit and change to a different industry.
"If you don't understand, just ask your employees. You shouldn't be here seeking approval from me." I got Murphy to escort Jared out and called Yvonne right away.
"Cole?" Before I could open my mouth, she berated me, "Why didn't you sign?"
"The gall of you to ask me this."
"What do you mean? Do you no longer want to work together?" Yvonne sounded like she was trying to seek justice for Jared.
