The gossiping murmurs grew louder, drawing Yvonne's cold gaze. The oppressive air she exuded instantly silenced everyone.
Jared patted her shoulder lightly. "There's always gossip wherever people are. Haven't you gotten used to it yet?"
Their relationship was public knowledge, and there was no need to hide.
Yvonne's purpose tonight was clear—it was to confront Lorraine. Since Lorraine was planning to marry me, Yvonne vowed to get the kids' custody. Plus, we were the reason she was made a laughingstock.
She glanced at Jared. "Wait here. Don't come in."
She had wanted him to stay in the car as his celebrity status constantly attracted attention. He had fans anywhere he went, and it'd be largely inconvenient for them to get around.
"Are you sure you don't need me to come in?"
"This is nothing. Do you think I can't handle it?" Yvonne's temper flared, and her words were sharp.
Jared chuckled helplessly, shooting her a doting gaze. "Go ahead. I'll wait outside."
According to the information Sophie had given her, Yvonne quickly located their table. As she looked up, her eyes met Lorraine's.
"What's she doing here?" Sophie voiced Lorraine's doubts before she could.
Lorraine turned to Sarah. "Ms. Gilbert, did you invite Ms. Langley here?"
"That's none of my business. You seem afraid of her, though?" Sarah pointed out.
She eyed Lorraine somewhat gloatingly as Lorraine got up to leave. But Yvonne blocked Lorraine's way. "Let's talk."
"I don't think there's anything to talk about between us."
