"That's why I felt that something was off."
I pinned Yvonne down on the couch, my tone taking on a gritty edge. "That's why I checked the surveillance footage in the amusement park. It turns out that Jared's original target was Xavier this whole time."
"That's impossible!"
Yvonne's voice turned shrill. I thought my eardrums were about to burst because of how shrill it was.
"You're lying to me!" Yvonne glared at me viciously while digging her nails into my arm.
"If you don't believe me, feel free to ask him later."
I proceeded to pat Yvonne on the cheek. "I won't let him off the hook. Don't forget to tell him to cherish what little time he has. He most likely won't be able to enjoy his life ever again."
Yvonne staggered away. Before leaving, she turned to look at the document on the table. Finally, she shot me a glare before leaving.
"Cole, is what you said the truth?"
"Do you think I'll joke around when it comes to my sons' lives, Grandma?"
Grandma's face was extremely pale. She slammed the end of her walking cane onto the floor heavily.
"That shameless tart! To think that she's cruel enough to harm her own children!"
The reason why Grandma wanted me and Yvonne to remarry was so that Jonas and Xavier could have a mother in their lives. She couldn't care less about what our relationship was like.
What she didn't expect was that Yvonne had actually permitted Jared to hurt the twins.
After calming down, Grandma clamped a hand down on my shoulder. "What are you going to do about Jared?"
"Don't worry, Grandma. I won't spare his life—ever."
…
Yvonne went to Jared's studio right after leaving the Joplin residence. The moment she opened the door, she saw a sexy woman rising from Jared's lap.
"What are you two doing?"
Was Jared cheating on her?
Yvonne strode forward in her high heels and slapped the woman right away. "You shameless cunt!"
