The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 221

Ruth said with a trembling voice, "I've never thought of fighting over anything with you. I haven't met your father for a long time. Why do you have to break us up?"

"Break you two up? Do you think this is how the current situation should be described?" The thought of them making out behind my back disgusted me.

"Where are you staying?" I looked at Ruth, suddenly realizing that they might have a house here. I was even more annoyed.

"Just let me out of the car. I can go on my own."

"Are you afraid to show me where you're staying or are you afraid of letting me know that my father has bought you a house?"

I did not know which was true, but Ruth's body stiffened a little. She coldly spat out a neighborhood's name.

The people who stayed in that neighborhood were affluent. Ruth alone could not have had that much money.

"It looks like you two have been making Grandma really happy."

My father was not that capable. The most he could do was to fool around. To be able to get so much money to buy a house for Ruth, he must have gotten Grandma's permission.

My grip on Lorraine's hand got tighter and tighter. These people had truly infiltrated into my life. It looked like Grandma had been taken down by them too.

When we arrived, I looked at the mansion in a daze.

"You must be having a comfortable life staying here."

Ruth stopped her actions and looked at me in confusion.

"Cherish what you have. You might not have such a nice place to stay in after a couple more days."

Joplin Group was going through a huge reshuffling, yet my father was busy selling off his shares.
