When Xavier woke up, he noticed a group of people surrounding him.
"Whose child is this kid? Why is he here alone?"
"Where are your parents?"
Xavier looked at their concerned gazes. He anxiously scanned around, looking for me, but I had already left with Lorraine.
He thought of running out, but an aircrew member caught hold of him. "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to find someone."
"We've realized that you aren't traveling with an adult. We'll have to take you back to your country."
"No. I finally got here." He indeed had an arduous journey. Xavier pointed at where I just was. "My father has just left. Let me go. I'm going to look for him."
"Then, give me his phone number. I'll call him right away."
Xavier paused for a few seconds before looking away, clearly being uncooperative.
"If you don't tell me, I'll treat you as an illegal stowaway."
"How could you think I'm a stowaway? I came on the plane with a ticket. Can't you see?" This was Xavier's first time dealing with such unreasonable people.
They were not planning to let him go at all. He squirmed, trying to break free from their clutches.
"You can't run away. We'll contact someone from the country to pick you up."
They did not know how a child like him could sneak onto a plane.
Xavier looked alarmed and leaned against the wall in defeat. "I just want to look for Daddy. Why won't you let me look for him?" he croaked.
He was in a foreign place, and it was dangerous for a child.
The aircrew turned a little soft-hearted as they could not bear to watch him cry. They thought about calling his father.
Xavier immediately grabbed their hand. "You can't call Daddy."
