I looked at Yvonne with confusion for a long time. Was she asking that on purpose?
"Do you expect her to welcome you happily?"
Yvonne pursed her lips. "So what if she's angry? Is she going to stop me from seeing my son?" She was just going to treat it as she was doing it for Xavier.
I furrowed my brows. On the way back, I sent Lorraine messages as I was afraid she would find it unacceptable.
At the room door, I said to Yvonne once more, "Behave yourself." I only took Yvonne in because she had nowhere else to go. I just didn't want to cause any further trouble.
"Don't worry," Yvonne promised me. Yet somehow, I was still worried.
I knocked on the door. Lorraine opened the door with Xavier in her arms. She was in a silk sleeping robe, which showed off the curves of her body.
Yvonne immediately frowned. "Xavier is here. Can't you watch what you're wearing?"
Was Yvonne reprimanding Lorraine?
I turned around and shoved Yvonne's arm. "Don't forget what you promised me."
Yvonne harrumphed and entered the room holding Xavier's hand. She stood by the side of the bed and asked me coldly, "Where am I going to sleep?"
There was indeed no other place.
I pointed at the mattress that Lorraine had set up on the floor. "Over here."
"You're asking me to sleep on the floor?" Yvonne thought that she would have a bed.
"If you don't want to, it's fine. But I'm warning you, the next time you call me, I might not go over."
I had a meeting to attend the next day. I had no time to waste on her.
Yvonne looked at the thin blanket in dissatisfaction.
Lorraine could see how unhappy she was. She walked over to Yvonne, "If you're not used to sleeping…"
"Who says I'm not?"
