Yvonne was silent for a long while before hanging up.

I looked at Murphy, who was secretly sneaking glances at me. I ordered, "Head back to the hotel."

At the hotel, Yvonne had packed everything for herself and Xavier. She was about to leave.

"Cole said that you two can't leave yet." Lorraine was losing her patience. Why was Yvonne so stubborn? It was one thing to risk her own life, but she was taking Xavier along too.

Lorraine could feel as if someone was spying on her at all times as well.

Yvonne pushed Lorraine aside. "You're as obedient as a lapdog."

When Cole was not around, Yvonne was mean to Lorraine. Ever since Cole left in the morning, Yvonne had not said a single nice thing to her.

"Yvonne, I don't care what you want to do." Lorraine pulled Xavier next to her and said to Yvonne grimly, "Right now, I'm Xavier's guardian."

She was not going to let Xavier out of her sight. This was a promise she made to Cole.

"Xavier is my son." From Yvonne's point of view, Lorraine was trying to steal Xavier from her. Yvonne grabbed Xavier's arm and pulled hard when the door flung open.

I entered the room with Murphy, looking at them both with furrowed brows.

"What's going on?"

Xavier gasped, clearly in pain.

"I'm taking Xavier away."
