The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 245

Murphy suddenly looked up and stared at me in confusion.

"What do you think could get both of us so drunk?"

Murphy's tolerance wasn't built in a day, but even Fabian wasn't a match for him.

I had seen quite a few people drugging drinks over the years, but this was the first time someone did it to me.

"Let's go find Fabian," I said.

The driver immediately turned the car around. Murphy handed me my phone carefully.

"Mr. Joplin, this is your phone. I don't know how, but it ended up in my pocket last night," he said.

Speaking of last night, I realized I had forgotten to ask how Murphy was doing.

"Where did you end up sleeping last night?" I asked.

There was no way Fabian would have been considerate enough to send him back to our hotel. Otherwise, his plan would have been exposed.

If Lorraine found out, she would have come looking for him. Then, his scheme would have fallen apart.

Murphy had possibly stayed at the same hotel as me, and…

I looked at the marks on his neck, and a bold thought crept into my mind.

He said, "At the hotel, right below your floor."

Murphy looked a bit uncomfortable. When he noticed my gaze, he immediately pulled up his collar.

I saw through his discomfort at a glance. "Did Fabian arrange someone for you too?"

Hearing that, Murphy immediately looked up in disbelief. "You too?"

I replied, "They arranged a woman for me, but nothing happened between the two of us."

He responded, "That's good."

Murphy breathed a sigh of relief. If the general manager of Joplin Group was caught with another woman after his marriage, the news would have been explosive.

"What about you? What happened?" I couldn't help but glance at his face and neck.

It seemed like he didn't fare much better than me.
