A pleasant partnership?
I glared at him coldly. The displeasure on my face was evident.
This man kidnapped my wife and kid just to force me into a deal, and now, he was talking about a pleasant partnership? After finalizing the documents, he casually put an arm around my shoulder. He acted like we were good friends.
I maintained my frosty expression. I would not even give him a smile.
On the way back, Yvonne maintained a serious expression on her face.
"Didn't I ask you to leave?" I couldn't say much more with Lorraine around.
Yvonne scoffed as she looked at Xavier, who was already asleep.
She remarked, "What's the matter? Do you think you would've had an easy time with Fabian if I wasn't there?"
I had a look of confusion on my face. Yvonne turned around and said seriously, "Cole, I don't know what kind of business you're doing with Fabian, but let me give you a warning. Don't trust that man too much."
I said, "What? You've had dealings with him before?"
She replied, "He's invested in a few films before."
Her words made what she meant clear.
Jared had probably worked with Fabian before, and that was how Yvonne encountered him.
I fell silent. As I stared at Xavier in her arms, I made a decision. "For the time being, I'll let Xavier stay with you."
Yvonne looked up in disbelief. "Are you giving up on the custody battle?"
She did not understand why I had suddenly changed my mind.
"There have been too many things going on lately. The kids are too much of a distraction for me. We'll deal with things between us later."
There was a look of joy on Yvonne's face when she heard that, but I knew she already had a lawyer. She had been treating Xavier fairly well recently. In the end, she was still the boys' biological mother. Even if she didn't like the boys, she wouldn't go too far.
"But you need to promise me one thing," I added.
"What is it?" she asked.
I said, "Don't let Xavier get involved with livestreaming or anything similar."
