Jared stood there silently for a long while when faced with Yvonne's accusations.
"Are you blaming me for this?" His tone was a bit heavy. It sounded like he was holding back his anger.
He looked at her and said unhappily, "Yvonne, don't forget. You wouldn't even be on the fringes of the entertainment industry without me, let alone be able to meet Mr. Canes."
Jared was usually composed and gentle, but he was baring his teeth at Yvonne now.
It was the first time Yvonne had seen him lose control like that. Before this, he had always treated her tenderly no matter what happened. Even when she made mistakes, he never blamed her.
But this time, she felt as if he was lecturing her.
"What do you mean by that?" Yvonne's eyes started to tremble. "You're clearly the one who let Xavier drink alcohol."
Jared snapped, "Yvonne, Xavier only drank to help you! Don't forget, that glass of wine was for you."
Jared hated being questioned like that. This time, he had lost his temper with Yvonne. He turned around to leave, but Yvonne grabbed his wrist.
"Don't ever introduce me or Xavier to people like that again," Yvonne said angrily.
Hearing that, Jared's expression was incredibly chilly. Just looking at his face made Yvonne feel a tinge of fear.
Yvonne even had the fleeting thought that Jared was about to punch her.
She hunched her shoulders and spoke softly, hoping to calm Jared down, "Jared, calm down."
Jared grabbed her shoulders tightly, and his expression was incredibly serious. "Yvonne, I won't hurt you. I can even help Xavier establish himself in the entertainment industry. As for how he does that, I don't want you interfering too much."
