Grandma sent a piercing gaze at Chris, who visibly trembled with fear. "Just speak up if you have something to say. What's this about?"

Chris hunched down and sighed helplessly. He looked as though he was having a difficult time. "Grandma, I actually spoke with Cole in secret. He seems to be planning to go out on his own."

"Nonsense. How could he go out on his own? Is he really planning on severing ties with the Jopkin family?" Grandma spat out.

The angrier Grandma got, the happier Chris was.

He was gloating to himself internally as he shot a smug gaze at Dad.

The two of them whispered to each other in a spot where Grandma couldn't see in great excitement. Dad quickly turned away from Grandma when he realized that he couldn't control his expression.

Chris quickly added a few words, "Grandma, you should've seen the video I sent you, right? I don't know what's going through Cole's mind. He seems to have brought Xavier back and seems to be planning on fully supporting Xavier in the entertainment industry. There was nothing I could do to talk him out of it."

Grandma never liked the idea of anyone from the Joplin family associating with the entertainment industry. Hearing what Chris had to say just made her even angrier.

"So, he's really planning on supporting Xavier?" she asked.

"I really tried to talk him out of it, but Cole says that he'll do everything according to Xavier's wishes," Chris said.

Grandma's expression grew increasingly serious. Chris wasn't satisfied yet and was about to say more when she raised her hand to stop him.

She said, "Enough. I watched Cole grow up. I know his character better than you do. This matter ends here. No one is to bring it up again. From now on, we'll pretend this person was never a part of the Joplin family."

Grandma told Dad in the afternoon that he no longer needed to bring me back. After all, she didn't lack people who could manage the company.

Even without me, there were other candidates.

Grandma's gaze fell on Chris. "Now that Cole's gone, the responsibility falls on you. Whether or not you can hold onto this position will depend on your own ability."
