Xavier glanced back at Yvonne as if he was asking for her permission.
I got up and stood between the two of them. "Xavier, my company has already been registered. As long as you're willing, I can transfer your profile to my new company anytime."
Xavier's eyes lit up. Saying that he wasn't intrigued would be a lie. I was his father, after all. He knew that I wouldn't exploit him.
But what would happen to Yvonne if he left?
His gaze lingered on Yvonne, his lips trembling.
Jared frowned, looking somewhat anxious. Yvonne also turned away, her shoulders shaking as if she were on the verge of tears.
After hesitating for a long time, Xavier finally shook his head. "Mommy won't agree."
He didn't want to come with me if Yvonne was against it.
Hearing this, Yvonne immediately scooted over and said, "You heard him. He doesn't want to go with you. Stop trying to take him. Also, isn't Lorraine pregnant? I bet you don't have the time for Xavier. In fact, you should also leave Jonas with me too."
I stared at Xavier for a long time. After repeatedly asking him and getting the same answer, I decided not to press further.
"Since you've made your decision, I won't force you," I said. "But Xavier, my company is always here. If you ever change your mind, you can come anytime."
I had spotted a lucrative opportunity in the entertainment industry. Even if Xavier wasn't involved, I still planned to give it a try.
"Cole, you might be a successful businessman, but it's not that easy to make it in the entertainment industry," Jared intervened, his voice dripping with disdain.
"That's none of your concern," I shot back. "Mind your own business."
I turned to leave, not noticing Xavier walking toward me.
"Mommy, why can't I go to Daddy's company?"
