The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 308

Chris simply wasn't cut for the business industry. If it weren't for me, Joplin Group would've gone down the drain a long time ago.

Grandma's way of running the company was no longer effective, and Chris had done nothing but waste his time abroad.

He skimmed through the documents, unable to comprehend a single word. But he couldn't afford to show his weakness.

Forced to put up a front, he questioned Tanya, "Do you speak to Cole like this too?"

"Mr. Joplin never needed us to remind him," she shot back.

She was already displeased with my departure, so she only got even more irritated by Chris' sarcastic remarks. She thought he was a complete loser. He didn't even know how to read a contract without their help.

Tanya stared at Chris, her stance unwavering. She was clearly expecting him to handle the situation.

"Fine, you can leave now. I'll take care of it," Chris snapped, waving his hand impatiently.

If he had known running the company would be this daunting, he wouldn't have gone through the trouble of kicking me out.

Tanya placed the documents in front of him and left.

Hearing the door close, Chris sneered and remarked, "What a pretentious bitch."

He glanced in the direction Tanya left, certain that my subordinates wouldn't stay loyal to me forever.

Turning back to the documents on his desk with a wide-eyed expression, Chris was still at a loss. He had no choice but to call Henry instead.

He knew he couldn't go to Grandma as he had sworn that he'd prove his abilities to her. There was no way he'd come to me either, so Henry was his last resort.

"How useless! How can you run a company when you can't even read these documents? Do you really want Joplin Group to go under?"

In fact, Henry was just as clueless. Unlike Chris, he lacked ambition and only desired a peaceful life. His abilities were more or less the same as Chris, though.

Chris had always thought he was capable. Yet it turned out that he could barely understand the basic documents. How could he possibly run Joplin Group?
