This caused an uproar among the reporters. They flooded my way as if they had gotten the next day's headline.
I immediately looked at Murphy to get him to deal with them while I took Xavier away with me.
I had just gotten down from the podium when Yvonne arrived and got out of the car. She was in a gray shirt and high stilettos.
Her gaze landed on Xavier. She was fuming. "Xavier, you've been a bad boy."
She ran to me and reached her hand out to pull Xavier away.
"Yvonne, have you gone mad? Calm down."
Xavier was in so much pain that he furrowed his brows. He looked at Yvonne with fear in his eyes. He reached both hands out to me, asking me for help.
Now that she had Xavier in her arms, she reprimanded him, "You have an audition this afternoon. What are you doing here?"
When she realized Xavier was missing, she knew that he must have gone to look for me. She knew that Xavier wanted to be in my company since I said that I had created a company just for him.
Yvonne thought that since Lorraine was pregnant now, the company might not be for Xavier. She peered inside the office through the glass doors. She could not see anyone inside, but her instincts told her that Lorraine had to be inside.
She looked at the reporters behind her before pointing at me. "You keep saying that you've opened a company for Xavier. Will you dare to show me whose name is on the deed?"
Yvonne sneered confidently, "Don't think that I don't know that Lorraine is pregnant. Cole, do you think we can be so easily lied to?"
"Yvonne, have you gone mad?" I wasn't planning on announcing Lorraine's pregnancy. She was not too far along yet, so the reporters wouldn't notice her bump.
Everyone finally knew why Lorraine was not there. The more I wanted to keep it a low profile, the more excited they became.
