Sam's lips curled into a smile as he looked up smugly. "I wasn't referring to myself."

Lorraine tilted her head and looked at us in confusion. She clearly didn't understand what he meant.

Sam pointed at her, but his gaze was on me. "I was talking about you, my dear sister."

He started walking toward Lorraine.

I immediately stepped in front of him to block him. "Sam, Lorraine is pregnant. Don't agitate her."

My words only seemed to fuel his excitement. He started to laugh maniacally as he jumped in excitement. "So, you've known all along."

His gaze shifted back to Lorraine. "So, your dear husband has known all this time but never told you."

Lorraine started to realize something was wrong with Sam's strange words.

She asked, "What are you talking about?"

She grabbed my wrist tightly. "Cole, what does he mean?"

"It's nothing. Go find Murphy for now. I'll be right—" I said.

"You're not Gerald's biological daughter," Sam declared.

What I feared the most had happened.

I didn't even have the time to blame Sam. My first instinct was to turn and look at Lorraine.

She was staring blankly ahead with her lips slightly parted, and her grip on my hand was slowly loosening. She staggered and fell backward.

I quickly wrapped my arms around her and pulled her into my embrace, patting her back to comfort her.

"What did he say?" Lorraine asked.

She was in an incredibly dazed state as she walked toward Sam. "What did you just say?"
