The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 369

Henry kicked Chris in a fit of rage, sending him sprawling to the floor.

"What were you even thinking, trying to sell the company?" Henry pointed at him, so angry that Henry's finger was shaking.

No matter how irresponsible Henry was, he had never even thought about selling the company. He had gone to great lengths to bring Chris into the family, but Chris repaid him by trying to sell the company?

Chris remained silent as he sat on the floor with his face down. Looking at the screen of his phone, quite a few people were contacting him.

Joplin Group might not be as powerful as they used to be, but they still had very strong foundations. With proper management and sufficient funding, Joplin Group might be able to recover.

Grandma's face was incredibly pale. She didn't even have the strength to berate Chris at this point.

"Who did you contact?" she asked.

Hearing her words, Chris shook his head. It seemed like his mental state had crumbled to the point where he couldn't even understand her properly. "Grandma, I haven't sold the company. I was just making contact with some people."

"It doesn't matter if you've sold the company or not. Joplin Group has already become an empty shell that won't last much longer," she said.

As they sat there in grim silence, I got up and walked toward Grandma. I knew what I wanted to do was a bit opportunistic.

Grandma could see my intentions, and she spoke before I could, "You want to acquire the company?"

Both Chris and Henry looked up at me, their shock evident on their faces. I could more or less guess what their thoughts were.

"I'm just trying to help you. Don't get too excited," I said.

"You're just trying to take advantage of us while we're down!" Chris spat out in anger.
