The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 379

It seemed like I couldn't afford to be too nice. Some people just didn't know how to be happy with what they got.

My remark had completely offended Grandma. Her expression darkened as she felt her pride take a hit.

"What do you mean by 'beggar'? Your father's shares alone account for at least 15%. Throw in Chris' shares as well. They're all yours," she said.

Chris immediately stood up and walked forward. He had been planning on pleading his case with Grandma after I left. He never expected her to offer his shares so casually.

He was already frustrated before this, and now, he muttered sadly, "Grandma, how could you sell my shares without asking me?"

"Ask you about what?" Grandma shot back.

When did Chris have any say in the Joplin family?

Grandma waved him off in frustration. "Get lost."

"Grandma?" Chris looked at Grandma in disbelief. He had come to submit to her, not to be humiliated. He didn't understand why he had to be an easy target when I could afford to be so stubborn.

He looked at me hatefully. He wanted nothing more than to tear me apart. No one would be fighting over control of the company with him if I weren't around.

"Grandma, I won't give my shares up. Isn't it just 30 million dollars? I can get that myself," Chris declared.

"You?" Grandma questioned doubtfully, and I let out a laugh.

"Are you sure you can come up with 30 million dollars?" I moved closer to Chris, watching the nervous sweat forming on his face curiously.

"Chris, if you can really come up with 30 million dollars, I have a new project that I don't mind involving the Joplin family in," I said as I glanced at Grandma, whose anxious expression suggested that she wanted to say something.

"Of course, that's only if Joplin Group's crisis is resolved," I said.

Thirty million dollars would be enough to restart Joplin Group. I could provide that money, but only under the condition that all the shares of Joplin Group would belong to me. There were no other conditions.
