Dad?
"You sound so affectionate. It looks like he visits you quite a lot," I remarked.
I almost never saw Henry around when I was young.
I twirled a pen around as I looked at her. "Henry loves you so much. Did he actually let Chris sell you off?"
Calling it a marriage was just putting it nicely. It was more accurate to say that Henry was selling his daughter.
Even though I didn't know who she was being sold off to, there were only a few people in the business world who were willing to spend so much for a woman. And with someone like Yolanda, it was probably one of those men with "special" interests.
"Dad agreed to it," Yolanda spat.
So, she was starting to hate Henry as well.
She actually felt that she had a blessed childhood. She had money to spend and a father who loved her. She didn't need to marry someone she didn't love like some others did as well.
Yolanda was regularly laughed at because her mom was a mistress, but she still felt that she was quite lucky. After that, she got into university. She discovered that many of her classmates were mistresses as well.
The ridicule she faced gradually decreased.
She never expected to face something like this one day.
Nor did Yolanda expect her brother to be the one who married her off.
"I hate them. I'm willing to do anything as long as you can help me," Yolanda said resolutely. She pursed her lips tightly with grim determination.
"Helping you will cost me more than I stand to gain," I replied with a cold smirk. Still, since she was already here, I couldn't just let her leave like this.
At that moment, Lorraine opened the door. "Let's eat something first."
I was actually quite tired after a day at the office. I looked at Yolanda. "Let's go."
She hesitated and stood there awkwardly.
Lorraine warmly took her hand. "Let's go. Since you're Cole's sister, you're my sister too. Let's get to know each other better."
Yolanda's mind was obviously preoccupied during the meal.
