The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 392

Yolanda looked at Lorraine with some surprise.

Lorraine explained, "That's Jonas' favorite toy."

Even Lorraine didn't expect Jonas to give Yolanda that teddy bear.

Yolanda started to tear up. Recently, she had felt like the whole world had abandoned her. It was only when she met Jonas that she felt a sense of warmth.

"Jonas, why don't I play with you?" Yolanda asked.

Yolanda had heard of the Joplin family's situation before and knew that Jonas was somewhat withdrawn. So, she took the initiative to ask him to play.

Even though he was still a bit scared, Jonas nodded at Yolanda.

Lorraine watched as the two of them walked away and felt a sense of relief.

"They're getting along quite well, so you don't have to worry," Lorraine said into the phone, speaking casually to me as though we were an old married couple.

"That's good. You should get some rest," I said.

After I hung up, I looked at Murphy. "What did you say just now?"

"Fabian called. He's demanding an explanation," Murphy answered.

"What kind of explanation does he want?" I asked.

I hadn't even settled the score for his schemes yet, and he was already looking for me?

"He said his intentions were to work with you, but he ended up getting Chris instead," Murphy replied.

I finally understood what he wanted. Fabian must have suffered a huge loss from his failed partnership with Joplin Group and wanted me to compensate him.

"Tell him that no one can do anything about the change in leadership in Joplin Group. He only has his bad luck to blame," I instructed.

"Blame my own bad luck? Mr. Joplin, you've got quite the nerve."

A voice interrupted me as someone barged into the office, ignoring the secretary's attempts to stop him.
