The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 394

Fabian understood my stance and left with a scoff.

Once he and his group were gone, the secretary cautiously entered the room. She looked at me in shock, "Mr. Joplin, who were they? They were so scary."

She didn't dare mention that she thought she saw guns on them and only tried to ask about their identities.

"They're just some insignificant people. There's no need to worry about it," I dismissed.

She didn't believe me, but she still nodded and left.

Murphy and I were left alone in the office. Fabian had already left, but Murphy was still a little worried. "Mr. Joplin, is this really fine?" he asked.

He was worried that Fabian would retaliate.

"Don't worry. He wouldn't dare to do anything considering my identity," I said.

The most he would do was sabotage.

Fabian might be someone from the underworld, but he was still quite intelligent. The fact that he had managed to keep his record clean for so many years showed how savvy he was.

"He's definitely done his homework on me before he came here. He only brought those men over to intimidate me, but it didn't work at all," I replied.

Anyone could look into my background fairly easily. Back when I was in Joplin Group, I kept a low profile only to avoid alerting Grandma. Now that I was out with my own business, there was no longer any need to hide.

"Keep monitoring Joplin Group and see what they do next. Grandma will probably give up on Chris with him being detained," I remarked.

What concerned me the most was if Grandma turned to Hayden.

If Hayden ended up in charge of Joplin Group, I'd find it hard to make any moves.

He was probably the only person in the Joplin family I still got along with. I really didn't want to go against him.

Unfortunately, my worries came true.
