The Night I Let Go novel Chapter 49

Zachary had been sleepy at first, but when he heard how shameless Wendy was being, he couldn't help bursting into laughter. "Wendy, you can't possibly think that I'm only sulking, do you?"

"Aren't you? First Ellen, and now Anya. Aren't you approaching them on purpose to make me jealous?" Wendy looked very sure of herself.

Before Anya's appearance, she might have suspected Zachary of being together with Ellen.

However, after Anya had appeared, she had realized that Zachary and Ellen were just putting on an act.

They just wanted to make her angry on purpose.

After being married for five years, she felt that she understood Zachary well enough.

Zachary was very loyal when it came to relationships, and he always kept his distance from those of the opposite gender. He would never eat alone with Anya if he was dating Ellen.

Besides, Zachary and Anya had seemed so intimate just now.

If they weren't putting on an act, then what else could it be?

"You can keep thinking that if you want to!" Zachary had no patience to explain anything to Wendy, especially when he saw how triumphant she looked.

"What kind of attitude is that, Zachary?" Zachary was clearly being dismissive of her, and it had made Wendy angry. "I'm already compromising. Don't act so high-and-mighty with me."

"Do I need you to compromise?" Zachary looked impatient.

Wendy said angrily, "Zachary, do you really want to divorce me? Once we get divorced, I'll never look back or try to make you stay! This is the only time I'll ask you to stay, and it'll be the last! You'd better consider this properly!"

"I've considered this very thoroughly. See you at the courthouse on Monday, because we are getting divorced!" Zachary turned on his heel and walked into the neighborhood without looking back.

"Zachary! Jennings Corporation has already found a new business partner. Even if we don't have a collaboration with Yel Corporation, we're still going to get better and better. When you regret it in future, I won't give you any chances!" Wendy's threatening voice called out from behind him.

However, Zachary continued walking off into the distance without looking back.

Wendy looked grim.

She stood under the street light and stared fixedly at Zachary's retreating figure. She did not move for a long time.

She only turned and got angrily into the car when she could no longer see him.

The next day, Harold invited Ethan for a meal at the Jennings' home.
