The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 635

At that moment, Wayne and Melody were sitting in a restaurant in Bellington.

A group of over a dozen villagers from Rio Village, who could be considered their distant relatives, had come to Bellington together. They had tried every possible method and finally convinced Wayne and Melody to meet with them.

As soon as they met, all of them, without exception, fell to their knees at Melody and Wayne's feet. Among them were elderly people, middle-aged adults, and even children. They were dressed in tattered clothes, looking as if they had been begging on the streets.

"Wayne, I beg you, save us! Save the village! We all know we have wronged your family over the years, but please give us a chance to make amends. Don't leave so many of us with no way out.

"Wayne, Melody, you're good people; truly good people. It's us who were blind for looking down at you—for repaying your kindness with bad deeds. But please, give us another chance. We're begging you."

A middle-aged man in his 50s, kneeling at the front, began to plead tearfully. And as he wept, the other joined in. The sight was nothing short of heart-wrenching.

Wayne and Melody stood in the private dining room, momentarily at a loss for what to do.

Just then, Sirius walked into the room. He frowned, wanting to do something, but not daring to. After all, he didn't know what Wayne and Melody's stance was. Not to mention, all these people were somewhat connected to Nolan.

Thus, he could only approach Wayne and Melody and said softly, "Mr. Greene Senior, Mrs. Greene Senior, if you need me to, I can have them all thrown out immediately."
