Living in a villa, being served by maids, and indulging in delicacies—this was the kind of luxurious life Olivia and Chase wanted.
At this moment, Megan and Jeanne had arrived at the doorstep of Olivia's villa.
Jeanne hesitated for a moment, then turned to Megan and said, "Megan, are we really just going to let it go like this? Is there really no chance left?"
The two of them, who had previously turned against each other over Nolan, were now back together. After all, they were truly in the same boat now.
Megan's expression darkened. Through gritted teeth, she said, "What else can we do? Right now, Nolan hates me more than anything. He probably wishes he could kill me. It's just that he hasn't acted on it yet. But he'll never let me off the hook. You know that, Jeanne. And you won't fare any better either.
"But I can't just let it go. Even if I die, I'll die in the Greene family's ancestral grave. Come on, let's go inside. Whoever caused the problem must be the one to fix it. So, maybe if my mother and brother apologize in person, Nolan's anger will subside."
Jeanne's eyes immediately lit up. Looking at Megan, she said, "You're right. Why didn't I think of that? Megan, if you think about it, Nolan might not hate you as much as you think.
"Sure, you asked for a divorce right after he got out of prison, but you also offered compensation—and a lot of it, at least it looked that way then. That counts as parting on good terms, right? So, he shouldn't hate you that much.
"It was only because of your mother and brother that everything escalated. They were the ones that went to Nolan's house to insult and provoke him. That's what really set him off and created his irreparable rift between you two! So, if your mother and brother apologize, everything might just get better."
At this point, Jeanne hesitated and looked at Megan. "But given your mother and brother's temper, do you really think they'll apologize?"
"They'd better!" snapped Megan through gritted teeth, her eyes burning with anger. "If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be in this mess. My relationship with Nolan wouldn't have deteriorated to this point.
