The Ruthless Lycan King Fell For His Slave Mate novel Chapter 47

Lyra felt as if her body was on autopilot as she faced the wolves. They surrounded her, their fangs exposed and their growls rumbling through the air.

All things considered, she looked like dead meat. There were four of them and then there was her, armed with a pair of daggers. A few months ago, she would not have survived this. Regardless, she would have fought with everything she had.

Now, she had the advantage of having unlocked her abilities and receiving hours of training from the best instructors in the kingdom. She had never imagined that she would find herself in such a battle all alone without backup, but there was no turning back.

Remembering how her mental powers had helped her in her fight against Beryl, she used them to try and control the wolves. To her relief, they worked fine. Using them, she manipulated the wolves’ movements, allowing her to evade most of their attacks. But, while this worked, she quickly got tired, which affected her ability to calculate her actions.

She finally managed to bring down three of the wolves, allowing her to fully focus on the last one. But just when she thought she had a chance, more wolves appeared at the opening. The scent of blood had drawn them, and now, Lyra found herself facing five new ones.

Until that point, she had believed that she could fight them off. But now, with her body tired and her strength drained, she could not think of a way. Her mind raced. She would definitely lose if she stayed and fought. But she could not just stand and wait for death.

Roger had mentioned an eastern passage. Since the others had taken it, she could take the western passage. She had no idea where it led, but it would take the wolves away from the rogues and maybe, just maybe, she would find a way out.

Wherever the passage led, it was her only option now. She started backing away, but as if the wolves could read her mind, they jumped into the chamber, surrounding her.

No. No. No.

“What should I do?” she asked Rae frantically.

As if her fatigue wasn’t enough, a strange tingling developed in her limbs. She looked down at her limbs, panicking. This was not the time for her body to start playing tricks on her!

Seconds later, the tingling intensified into something much different. She felt a surge of energy rushing through her body, filling her with new power. It was a feeling she had never experienced before, and soon enough, she knew why.

As she watched her arms in confusion, she saw fur sprout on the back of her hands. Her eyes stung, her bones ached, and her body started stretching.

“Am I shifting?” she asked Rae in wonder.
