The Ruthless Lycan King Fell For His Slave Mate novel Chapter 62

“Please let me go,” Anna pleaded as she scrambled to her feet and quickly moved away from the giant lizard behind her. The beast had almost snapped her foot off just a second ago, and she did not have enough strength to keep running. “Let me out of here!”

Crystal's lips curled with an evil smile at the sound of desperation in Anna's voice. “Why should I? You haven't shown me any tricks yet. You witches are famous for killing werewolves without lifting a hand. You are not getting out of here until you kill it.”

“I can't!” Anna screamed, pressing up against the wall of the empty pool and shuffling farther away from the lizard. “I've never used magic to kill anyone. I don't know how!”

“That's too bad,” Crystal said, looking at her nails in boredom. “If you can't kill it, it'll kill you. It has not eaten anything in days.”

“Why are you doing this to me?” Anna cried, tears running down her face. She could not keep going for much longer. If Crystal did not let her go, the lizard would catch her soon and tear her to pieces. “I stay out of your way!”

“You are still in this palace, aren't you?” Crystal asked. Sneering, she added, “Like your little friend, you latched onto a noble male and seduced him. If I'm not careful, this palace will turn into a brothel run over by whores like you.”

The lizard charged and Anna broke into a run towards the other end of the pool. Her clothes were torn and bloody from the times the lizard had attacked her. Every part of her body hurt like hell.

Did Crystal want to kill her? After weeks of torment, was this the end? If the lizard devoured her, no one would find her body. She had tried crying for help, but each time, Crystal subdued her with her mental control. Each time Anna ran for the ladder on one side of the pool, Crystal did the same, using her mind to push her back with a powerful force.

“I'll do anything you want,” Anna cried. “Just let me go. Please.”

Crystal tilted her head from side to side, thinking. “Anything?”

“Yes!” Anna confirmed in desperation. “Anything.”

“Alright,” Crystal said. She walked around the edge of the pool to where Anna was. The lizard was now circling halfway across the pool, as if strategising on its next attack. Anna looked at Crystal with hopeful, teary eyes. Crystal came to a stop in front of her, icy eyes looking at her. “Well then, I want you to die. Can you do that?”

Anna had thought she would ask her to leave the palace, to which she would have agreed. But it turned out Crystal was just toying with her.

“Please,” Anna cried.

Crystal scoffed. “Pathetic!” she spat. Turning to walk away, she said, “I don't understand how lowly beings like you can bear to live. Utterly useless.”

The sound of heavy footfalls brought Anna's attention back to the lizard. It was coming at her at full speed, and despite her wishes, she became frozen to the ground. She wanted to run, but her body felt powerless, weak. The lizard opened its mouth, exposing its sharp teeth. A moment later, Anna dropped to the ground, fainting from shock.

Crystal hesitated when she saw the lizard charging towards the unconscious female. Sure, she wanted her dead, but what if Julian found out? She did not want to get in trouble. But also, how would he find out? Who would care if a lowly witch disappeared? Everybody would say she had been a spy all along and had gone back to the witches. She smiled. The palace would be a much better place without her.

So, she did not do anything to stop the lizard as he got closer to Anna. But just when he was a few feet away from her, he stopped suddenly and dropped onto his belly.

“ANNA!” someone screamed.

Crystal turned to find Lyra rushing towards the pool, a dart gun in her hand. She jumped into the empty pool and ran to Anna.

“Anna,” she called frantically, lifting her onto her lap. “Anna!”

A few seconds later, Zero appeared on the scene. Crystal watched as he jumped into the pool and took Anna into his arms. He listened to her breathing and checked her pulse. “She is alive, she is alive,” he said with great relief.

“You,” Lyra snapped sharply, looking at Crystal. “What did she ever do to you?”

Crystal cleared her throat and held her head high, her arms across her chest. “What are you talking about?”
