She silently smirked at the remark but did not call him out. The land south of the city, which the Glasses bid, was going to be developed into a business district. Clearly, the area would flourish in the future. But Randy suddenly offered her a partnership in the lucrative project they had just bagged, and it all felt odd to her.

"That's a huge project. I need to discuss it with Dad." More importantly, she needed to do some investigation into the issues behind the land—there must be something. Else, the Glass Family wouldn't have suggested a partnership.

"Jenny, what do you think of Jolene's marriage?" Randy's random question prompted her to look up in surprise. She wondered if the Glasses' goal was to get the marriage canceled for Jolene's sake. That sounded plausible. If the Glasses wanted to put the partnership on the table in exchange for Jolene's freedom, Graham might actually consider the deal.

She gathered herself and replied coolly, "It's wonderful. They're in love with each other."
