Hera overheard the report because she was close to Bernard. A chill ran down her spine when she heard that.
Linda had gone mad! How could she hire terrorists and plant time bombs?
Bernard's heart surged to his throat. "Where's the time bomb?"
Normally, he wouldn't be this nervous, but Hera was here right now. He was afraid that she might get hurt.
"The entrance and the windows on the west side of the broadcast room have been blocked off. Their attacks are too aggressive. We can't go in there, so we don't know where it is," Aaron reported.
Bernard frowned. It would be troublesome if they couldn't track down the location of the time bomb. Now, their only option was to evacuate before it exploded!
Bernard tapped his earpiece. "Evacuate everyone in the building. Find us an exit from our location. Get Hera out of here first."
Hera's heart raced. She tore a piece of fabric from her dress to bandage Bernard's bleeding wound to stop the bleeding.
"Let me see…" Aaron replied. "There's a small window on the south. It's safe there. Nine o'clock from your direction. I'll initiate an evacuation immediately, and I'll provide cover for you until you get there."
"Got it." Bernard looked at Hera. She nodded, signaling that she understood the plan and was ready.
Bernard peeked outside. After making sure it was safe, he led her out from the table.
They walked along next to the equipment, drawing closer to the door. The door was broken and riddled with bullet holes due to the attack.
He checked the situation outside from the doorframe. Then, he fired at the lock of the opposite room to unlock the door. He beckoned her over to move to the other room first.
While moving to the next room, she heard gunshots behind her. She paced up and hid behind the walls of the new room.
Bullets penetrated through the door within seconds.
Unable to cross the corridor, Bernard hid behind the walls of the original room. He was worried that he might trigger a bomb, so he could only avoid shooting the vital parts.
The mercenary got shot in the knee, which caused him to kneel on the ground. Still, he kept shooting and called for backup.
Left with no choice, he seized the chance to call Hera. "Sweetie, are you alright?"
