Victor was surprised when he saw Rutledge. Who is this man?
Why does he make him nervous?
His instinct made him see Rutledge as his rival. Seeing his intimacy with Elinor, he sneered more unpleasantly. "I won't bother you. I'll go back now."
"Wait." Elinor saw his response and stopped him. "Don't misunderstand. This is my friend, Rutledge. We met abroad."
"Do you have to explain it to me?"
Victor laughed mockingly and deliberately said, "You are not my girlfriend."
Elinor's eyes were rimmed red, and she sneered at herself. "Yeah, I'm not. I also wasn't two years ago, but you destroyed my reputation at school for you didn't listen to my explanation. So I have to be sensible now at least, right?"
She never called him intimately again.
The sweet and timid girl who once followed and relied on him was completely dead. Looking back on the past and the present, he thought it was a great mockery given to them by God.
Why did they come to such an end?
They saw each other as strangers.
Victor unconsciously clenched his fingers. He didn't want to show any different emotions at this time, which was like losing to Elinor, so he said, "You still recalled the previous memories. Are you still in love with me? Your look when you pestered me was ugly. Don't mention school violence. I did nothing, but I was involved in your scandal just because of your affection. You should know who is really innocent."
