When Her Death Couldn't Break Him novel Chapter 1087

Chapter 1087 Caring For Nathaniel
“It's quite late. I don't think that's okay.” The butler stood in front of Cecilia, blocking her way.

Cecilia questioned, “Why?”

“I'm simply concerned about your safety,” the butler explained.

Cecilia brushed past him. “Don't worry, I can take care of myself.”

She hurriedly headed toward Nathaniel's room.

The butler figured that Nathaniel probably wouldn't wake up at this time, so he let Cecilia be.

In the spacious bedroom, Nathaniel lay quietly on the bed, his eyes tightly shut. It didn't seem like he had fallen asleep naturally.

After closing the door, Cecilia made her way over to him.

“Nathaniel,” she called out.

The man in bed did not react.

Cecilia settled onto the nearby bed and pulled back the covers to assess Nathaniel, her heart sinking at the sight before her. His body was marred with wounds, as though he was beaten by a stick. Patches of blue and purple bruises dotted his skin, and they looked painful.

Cecilia glanced around, located the first aid kit, and began to tend to his wounds.

Unbeknownst to her, the room was equipped with a surveillance camera, closely monitoring everything that happened within the room.

Nathaniel was covered in grime, and it took considerable effort for Cecilia to clean him up. She couldn't tell if the manor's servants had intentionally neglected his care or if they simply feared that he might lash out at them. Once she had finished cleaning him, she retrieved some fresh clothes for him to change into. Afterward, she replaced the duvet cover and tucked him in gently, ensuring he was comfortable.

Jessica came, watching Cecilia busy about. “What you're doing now is pointless. It won't be long before he get himself filthy again.”

Her eyes were filled with nothing but disdain.
