Aiden Finnegan's Medical Odyssey novel Chapter 58

"What are you trying to say?" Angelina said coldly.

Aiden laughed at himself. "You are always talking down to me. No matter what I do for your family, you would never even look at me. I just wanted your attention. I stayed with you, as loyal as a dog, but you would never think any better of me. I am nothing but trash to you. Even when I have a business of my own, you never thought I did it with my own abilities. When I tried to help the Thatchers out, you think I was scamming them. And now you think they came after me because I botched the job. If you think of me as nothing but trash, then why do you care if Gina comes to me? You gave me hope that I might have your love just to take it away and smash it into pieces. I might have laid low for three years, but I am no trash! Do you know how much I had to suffer for you?" Aiden was getting agitated, and he was glaring at Angelina in the end.

"I don't care about you? If I never cared about you, I wouldn't have defended you every time my mother yelled at you. If I never cared about you, I wouldn't have worried about you. You stayed with us for three years and had nothing to show for it, yet you claim to become a doctor overnight? You can't expect me to believe that! Yeah, I never gave you a moment of my time! But that's because I'm beautiful, educated, and talented. Trash like you have no right to marry me, and yet I was forced into it! And now everyone is laughing at me!" Angelina shouted.

Both of them fell silent, though Angelina started crying. It was Aiden's first time seeing her cry so much. He wondered if he did misunderstand Angelina this time. Part of him said that Angelina only did that because she didn't want to be embarrassed, but eventually, his emotions got the better of him. Aiden tried to wipe her tears away, but she dodged them.

"Get out of my car!" Angelina shouted.

Aiden didn't move. He wasn't angry at her anymore. Not when she started crying. Carefully, he said, "Let's not argue anymore, Angelina. We need to talk. Peacefully."

Angelina wiped her tears away and repeated, "Get out of the car."

She's really mad this time. If I stay, she'd only get madder. Aiden left the car, but he didn't leave her alone. Instead, he stood by the car.

Angelina rested her head on the steering wheel and cried once more. She used to think she didn't like Aiden at all, but after all that had happened, after she got angry when she saw Gina with Aiden, she knew she had feelings for Aiden. The only thing was that she never said it out loud. For three years Aiden took great care of her, and she was moved by it. Anyone would.

If Gina hadn't shown up, Angelina wouldn't have realized she had feelings for Aiden. The moment she showed up and tried to flirt with Aiden, Angelina got frustrated and jealous. She realized that somewhere down the line, she was used to Aiden's care. She saw him as her personal property, or to be exact, her husband. That was why she wanted to loosen up the relationship's tension, but she was used to being haughty, so she couldn't talk gently.

She did wonder why Aiden stopped tolerating her behavior. Angelina wiped her tears and looked around, but Aiden wasn't there. It made her feel worse. Dammit. He actually left? She revved the car up and stepped on the pedal. The car darted into the distance, and Angelina saw Aiden in the rear-view mirror. He was standing where her car was. It was surprising, but Angelina didn't stop. She couldn't let her ego go for one goddamn second.

Aiden saw her car off, a bitter smile curling his lips. It had been a few rocky days. Every time he tried to talk with Angelina, it would end in an argument. No cars around. No choice, then. Aiden walked all the way back to town. It was already three in the afternoon when he returned. Even a martial artist like him felt tired. He plopped down on the chair and told Helena to get him a cup of tea.

Angelina came to the company and was greeted with the news that infuriated her. The liaison department for Avirax had been set up. They even had an office. Kevin was inside, telling the admins to decorate the place according to his preferences.
