Aiden Finnegan's Medical Odyssey novel Chapter 61

"What's going on?" Aiden's tone softened.

Ray couldn't just stand by as Aiden and Angelina tried to diffuse the tension. So, he quickly interjected, "Aiden, don't bother asking about Avirax Medicare. It's not something you can help with."

Aiden sneered. "I can't help with Avirax Medicare? Are you suggesting that you played a role in securing the contract? Besides, Angelina and I are still married. Why are you acting like this about who knows what?"

"You... I won't stoop to petty arguments with someone like you," Ray retorted. "I had a friend assist Angelina in signing the Avirax Medicare contract. Unlike you, who is always either at home or busy in the kitchen."

Aiden sneered and taunted, "Did your friend help you get that contract?"

"Of course." Feeling uneasy about Aiden's attitude, Ray wondered, What's bothering me? Why do I let the words of someone like him bother me so much?

Angelina chimed in, "The Avirax Medicare contract did come through his friend, Aiden."

Upon hearing this, Aiden chuckled self-deprecatingly. "Do you honestly believe this idiot would seek help from anyone?"

"Aiden, tonight's incident is just a misunderstanding. Let's talk about it at home," she suggested. Then, she turned to Ray and said, "Sorry, Ray, let's call it a day."

"Home? Do I even have one to go back to?" Aiden said with a self-deprecating tone.

Angelina stayed quiet, but Ray added more fuel to the fire. "Angelina, why put up with such a good-for-nothing? Haven't you suffered enough because of him?"

"Ray, please stop!" she interrupted, annoyed by Ray's repeated derogatory comments about Aiden.

As Ray observed her expression, he cursed inwardly, You ungrateful b*tch! I treated you well, and yet you choose to humiliate me for a good-for-nothing. One day, you'll kneel before me.

Suddenly, he said, "Angelina, what's there to fear? As long as I'm here, you don't have to be afraid of him."

Upon hearing that, Aiden sneered and turned to Ray. "So, you're claiming your friend helped with the Avirax Medicare contract. Who is this friend?"

Ray hesitated momentarily before responding, "Well, my friend..." But then he quickly countered, "Why does it matter to you who my friend is?"

"You're the one who brought it up. Prove it then," Aiden demanded coldly with a smile.

Ray felt a sudden unease, wondering if Aiden had discovered that Avirax Medicare wasn't a result of his connections. He couldn't understand how Aiden had found out.

Attempting to stand his ground, Ray confidently replied, "Why should I prove anything to you? In any case, I've handled this matter for Angelina." He spoke with a noticeable lack of confidence. After uttering his words, he anxiously glanced around, afraid of being recognized by someone.

Aiden couldn't help but chuckle at Ray's demeanor. "I never thought I'd meet someone as shameless as you!"

Ray quickly shot back, "Nonsense! Do you even have the right to say that about me? I successfully managed the deal for Avirax Medicare for Angelina. Unlike you, who can't accomplish anything and still accuses her!"

Aiden turned to Angelina and asked, "Do you believe he's the one who's been helping you all along?"

"Aiden, I'm not sure why you're so insistent on this," she said with a puzzled expression.
