Bound By Her Bump novel Chapter 13

Annie and Ella spent the day cleaning the apartment after which they lazily crashed on the carpet in the living room, going over Annie's new project idea on her laptop.

They were interrupted when the doorbell rang.

"That must be Claire and Jayden" Annie responded to Ella's questioning eyes. Before she could stand up to go open the door, Ella beat her to it.

"Ella!" Claire hugged her.

She chuckled. "Hello, cupcake."

"I'm so happy to see you. I've got a lot of gists for you"

"Really?" She asked and Claire nodded.

"Then I can't wait to hear them." She replied.

"Don't I deserve a hug too?" Annie asked as she walked towards her best friend and younger sister.

"Hi, Sis." She greeted and hugged her the same way she hugged Ella.

"I missed you." Annie said then kissed her forehead."Where's Jayden?" She asked.

"He's helping mom offload the bags in the car." She answered as she walked towards the sofa and placed her backpack on it.

"Just look at how my baby is glowing wonderfully." Angela, Annie's mom praised as she walked in with her hands full of shopping bags.

Annie groaned as she tried to hide the blush on her face. Her mom's reaction was priceless when she told her she was pregnant and her mom was even thrilled when Annie called her yesterday telling her how Eric wants to be in her life and the baby's life.

The forty-six-year-old woman was very happy and grateful to God. She was already dreading the idea that her daughter was going to raise her child alone but now that Eric was in the picture, she was calm.

She placed the shopping bags on the couch, then hugged her daughter and Ella.

"How are you girls doing?" She asked.

"We are fine," Annie replied.

"How's our lover boy, Your Boss?" She directed to Ella which made her groan.

"I see you no longer have any interest in me." A sad voice said from the entrance.

They looked towards the direction and found Jayden standing there with his backpack and a grocery shopping bag.

"Don't be silly. You know you'll forever be the love of my life." She teased and everyone chuckled.

Jayden playfully rolled his eyes and shut the door behind him. He proceeded to the kitchen, kept the groceries on the counter and returned to the living room.

"So what's in there?" Annie asked, pointing to the shopping bags her mom placed on the couch earlier on.

"Oh! These are for my grandbaby." She went towards the shopping bag to reveal all that was in there.

"Mom!" Annie groaned as she plopped down on a nearby chair.

Her mom smiled.

"Mom, you know I'm going to have only one baby, right?" She chuckled.

"We don't know for sure, my dear." Angela winked. "But there's a solution for whatever happens. Annie's mom took a few steps towards the stroller and showed Annie the extra compartment if she wanted to use the pram for two babies. She also showed Annie how she could detach the other compartment if it was being used for one baby. Annie was in awe. She was sure as hell it was very expensive so she made a mental note to ask her mom how much it costs and maybe even refund it with Eric's credit card. That way he won't complain that she wasn't using his card.

"I hope you have space in this house to keep all of these," Ella said.

"I'm sure Mr Right who happens to be the baby's father will take care of that." Angela teased and Annie groaned, trying to hide her blush at the same time.

Truthfully Annie hadn't thought about it. She doesn't know what her mom meant by her baby daddy being Mr right. Even though she loved the idea, she was not certain he feels the same way about her.

Nevertheless, her baby will stay with her and Eric is free to come to visit him or her at any time. And perhaps when the baby is a bit older, he will be going for sleepovers at Eric's place.

"Don't worry I have space in my room." There was a space in her walk-in closet which she thinks should fit all that her mom bought. She turned to her mom and pleaded. "Mom, please don't buy anything again, at least for now."

"I'm not promising anything, my love but I'll try," Angela said truthfully. She did not plan to buy all that she bought today, She was at the mall with Jayden and Claire shopping for them for their school supplies when she came across the baby store and she couldn't help but get in there and buy some things for her growing grandchild. It was as if she was the most excited about the baby.

"So, when can we meet the baby's Father? I'd like to hang out with him." Claire asked.

"Yes, me too." Jayden chipped in.

"Argggghhhh, trust me, you guys know him" Ella spoke.

"We do?" They chorused as they looked at Annie who refused to tell them who the father of her baby was.
