Annie and Ella spent the day cleaning the apartment after which they lazily crashed on the carpet in the living room, going over Annie's new project idea on her laptop.
They were interrupted when the doorbell rang.
"That must be Claire and Jayden" Annie responded to Ella's questioning eyes. Before she could stand up to go open the door, Ella beat her to it.
"Ella!" Claire hugged her.
She chuckled. "Hello, cupcake."
"I'm so happy to see you. I've got a lot of gists for you"
"Really?" She asked and Claire nodded.
"Then I can't wait to hear them." She replied.
"Don't I deserve a hug too?" Annie asked as she walked towards her best friend and younger sister.
"Hi, Sis." She greeted and hugged her the same way she hugged Ella.
"I missed you." Annie said then kissed her forehead."Where's Jayden?" She asked.
"He's helping mom offload the bags in the car." She answered as she walked towards the sofa and placed her backpack on it.
"Just look at how my baby is glowing wonderfully." Angela, Annie's mom praised as she walked in with her hands full of shopping bags.
Annie groaned as she tried to hide the blush on her face. Her mom's reaction was priceless when she told her she was pregnant and her mom was even thrilled when Annie called her yesterday telling her how Eric wants to be in her life and the baby's life.
The forty-six-year-old woman was very happy and grateful to God. She was already dreading the idea that her daughter was going to raise her child alone but now that Eric was in the picture, she was calm.
She placed the shopping bags on the couch, then hugged her daughter and Ella.
"How are you girls doing?" She asked.
"We are fine," Annie replied.
"How's our lover boy, Your Boss?" She directed to Ella which made her groan.
"I see you no longer have any interest in me." A sad voice said from the entrance.
They looked towards the direction and found Jayden standing there with his backpack and a grocery shopping bag.
"Don't be silly. You know you'll forever be the love of my life." She teased and everyone chuckled.
Jayden playfully rolled his eyes and shut the door behind him. He proceeded to the kitchen, kept the groceries on the counter and returned to the living room.
"So what's in there?" Annie asked, pointing to the shopping bags her mom placed on the couch earlier on.
"Oh! These are for my grandbaby." She went towards the shopping bag to reveal all that was in there.
"Mom!" Annie groaned as she plopped down on a nearby chair.
