Bound By Her Bump novel Chapter 15

Annie found it difficult to fall asleep after reading the romantic text Eric sent her which made her stomach flip. He knew how to make a woman feel special.

She woke up feeling nauseous, left her bed for the bathroom, buried her face in the toilet and puked in it. A tear rolled down her cheeks as she puked the more.

She has heard a lot about morning sickness but she never knew it could be this bad.

Annie thought of calling for help because not only was she in pain, she was also scared, scared of what might happen to her baby.

But it was still too early to call for help. Ella had gone back to her apartment, her younger siblings; the twins went with Ella to spend some time with her before they left for boarding school next week. She thought of calling Eric but she did not want to disturb him as it was midnight; three minutes past 3 am.

Thankfully, the pain subsided but she still felt weak. She sat on the bathroom floor for a few more minutes to regain her lost energy after which she cleaned up.

Annie went back to bed and covered herself with the duvet. It took her a while to fall asleep but she eventually did around twelve minutes past four.

Annie woke up a few hours later feeling tired and hungry as if she skipped dinner the previous night. She reached for her phone on the nightstand to check what the time was. Luckily for her, it was 8.08 am. She was glad she still had time until her doctor's appointment at 9:45. Eric should be at her place by 9:20.

She smiled as she thought of him and suddenly got excited about seeing him today. She was grateful he agreed to come with her to her doctor's appointment.

Though, when the idea of opting for insemination came to her, she thought she could do it alone but now she's happy she was not alone in this journey and she would always have Eric to lean on.

After saying her morning prayers, She went downstairs to find something to eat.

On her way to the kitchen, She stopped by the window in her living room to see how the weather was. Something she does every morning. Fortunately, the day was bright and she predicted it would be sunny too.

Something else caught Annie's attention. There was a car parked in her driveway. Not just any car but a very expensive one. It was parked where Ella usually parked her car whenever she visited. She concluded it was probably one of her neighbours who bought a new car.

She shrugged off the thoughts and continued her journey to the kitchen. Annie opened the fridge, took out all the ingredients for breakfast and reached for the pan in one of the cupboards. As she was about to light the gas, the sound of her doorbell came through.

She rushed to open it, thinking it was Doris, her neighbour, the loving 52-year-old who brought her freshly baked cookies whenever she had excess.

"Wh....what are...you doing here?" She asked nervously as soon as she came face to face with Eric. Her mouth went dry when she took in his appearance. He looked more handsome than the last time she saw him. He was putting on his perfectly tailored suit and his hair was well styled. He also smelled so damn good. Annie couldn't believe the Greek god standing before him was her baby daddy.

"Good Morning. We have an appointment with the Doctor, remember?" He distracted her thoughts.

"Sorry." She facepalmed. "Good morning, I know we have an appointment. I just meant isn't it too early?" It wasn't even 8.30 and he was standing in front of her fully dressed. She was expecting him around 9.20.

The truth was that Eric was excited for today. He woke up as early as 5, tried to while away time by going for a run after which he showered and got dressed. He left his house at 6:30 and got to Annie's place at 7 on the dot. He could have gotten there earlier but he drove at a slower pace. He knew Annie was very much still asleep so he waited in his car, made some calls and replied to his emails. He saw Annie when she peeped through the window so he got down from his car and came to knock on the door. It wouldn't be a bad idea to see where she lives and most importantly, spend some time with her before they proceeded to the hospital.

He was speechless when he saw Annie. She was glowing beautifully; her hair in a messy bun, her white robe tied loosely around her, She was standing before him barefoot. She never ceased to amaze him.

But he noticed something. Her eyes were dull and puffy.

"Come in." She said politely, inviting him into her home.

He entered and she closed the door.

Before she could escape, he pulled her into his arms. He circled his left hand around her waist, cupped her face with his right hand so he could look into her eyes.

"You look dull. Is anything the matter? I know you've been crying; are you sick?" He asked, caressing her cheek in the process.

Annie closed her eyes and leaned into his embrace. The heat generating from his body, the smell of his cologne was making her go crazy. The way his touch was making her feel, no one made her feel that way.

He saw how reluctant she was to answer his question so he pressed on.

"Please Annie, You can tell me anything. I'll always be here to listen to you." He said with adoration in his eyes.
