Ditched Cheating Alpha, I Led My Daughter to Life's Peak novel Chapter 92

All of a sudden Onai pulls his hand away. I spoke too soon.

He moves closer to me and starts pulling off my jacket. Whoa! I yank away. Um, excuse me?

He puts a finger to his lips again and points at my jacket. Am I being saved or harassed? I take it off either way, deciding I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I keep looking behind me every few seconds towards where the noises are coming from.

He takes off his own jacket and hands it to me. Ah, I guess he's trying to cover up my scent. I hope he doesn't expect me to take my pants off though. Not happening.

He tosses my beloved jacket to the filthy forest floor like trash, turns around, and bends for me to climb on top of his back.

I reach for my jacket, quite angrily, but he smacks my hand away. He once again points to his back. I don't even know where to begin getting on. He's so tall that his little half lean isn't providing any help. I reach up to his shoulders and tug downwards. He crouches down further and I wrap my arms around his neck. He hoists me up and bolts. The forest flashes past us.

I'm shocked. I hold on tighter, closing my eyes. Things keep knocking into me, and it's not very pleasant. I don't want anything to take my eyes out.

I hope we're heading home, or at least towards the town. I hope we're heading for backup, or the brothers are coming, or something's going to save us. I don't know. I just want to be anywhere I'm safe, no offense to Onai, I trust him but... whoa whoa wait what the heck is he doing. He stops a good distance away somewhere I don't know. It's just more forest in my eyes.

He bends down and I climb off, reaching for his hand again. He pulls away. Oh no no no. No time for pride now Mr. I'm scared shitless.

He moves close to me. "Stay here," he whispers.

I almost don't hear it. I almost don't want to. I shake my head very violently, but he starts to walk away, behind the big mossy tree he's left me at.
