“We’re about to dock. Finish up, and we’ll head down,” Joycelyn called out as she came back inside. 

She started tidying up and gathering her things, leaving Ellison to his meal. 

“Don’t rush,” he said, not bothering to move. 

“Take your time. I’m not exactly quick at packing anyway,” she sal, folding clothes efficiently as she worked.

Her hands worked quickly, sorting everything with practiced ease. Even without ironing, she folded shirts so neatly they could’ve come straight from a store display, 

The movements were so smooth and precise, it was the kind of thing that could satisfy anyone with a touch of OCD. 

Ellison watched her for a moment before commenting. You’re pretty good at that 

“I used to work retail during summer breaks. I folded shirts all day,” she said with a proud little smile, stacking the folded pile to the side. 

Folding Ellison’s clothes, though, felt oddly different. It wasn’t just a chore; it gave her a sense of belonging. 

It was like her life had quietly settled into this new rhythm as a wife, one she hadn’t expected but somehow felt right. 

Joycelyn shook her head to snap herself out of the thought. 

“Why are you shaking your head? What’s going on in there?” Ellison asked, his curiosity piqued as he polished off his meal. 

“Nothing you’d get,” she shot back with a playful pour. 

Ellison raised an eyebrow and took a final sip of his drink before strolling over to her. 

“So, who used to handle all your clothes? William?” she asked, glancing up at him. 

“At the office, yeah. At home, the housekeeper,” he replied with a shrug. 

“And who does the washing?” she pressed, her brows furrowing in curiosity. 

There wasn’t a maid around, and the butler rarely showed up. The guy was practically a mystery. 

He smirked. “No one. I never wear anything twice.” 

Joycelyn stared at him, momentarily speechless. 

“Seriously? What a waste. From now on, I’ll wash and iron everything. Save you some money,” she said, standing up and giving him a teasing look. 

“So generous, huh?” Ellison’s eyes sparkled. 

Just make sure to hand over the money you’d have spent on new clothes,” she added with a cheeky grin. 

Ellison flicked her forehead lightly. “Greedy little thing.”

Joycelyn thought back to Lucy’s advice, “If you were going to stick with a man, you’d better know what you were getting out

Either they were flawed or after something. In this case, settling for his money didn’t seem like the worst option. 

“All packed,” she said, zipping up the suitcase and leaving behind anything unnecessary. 

“I’ll handle it.” Ellison grabbed the handle from her without waiting for a reply. 

For someone who wasn’t used to lifting a finger, he seemed pretty comfortable doing things himself. 

Joycelyn followed him, grinning. “Mr. Grant, not only are you drop–dead handsome, but you’re thoughtful too. I think I’m falling for you all over again.” 

Ellison raised an eyebrow, amused. “Mrs. Grant, you’ve been hanging around Leon too much. His bad habits are starting to rub off on you 

Though his words sounded dismissive, the faint smile on his lips betrayed him. 

Joycelyn laughed, brushing it off. “Leon is not so bad. Honestly, he’s kind of entertaining. Makes life a little less boring.” 

She thought of Leon’s larger–than–life personality, a mix of chaos and comedy, and shook her head. That guy really was something else. 

Once outside, Joycelyn started snapping pictures of the beautiful scenery. 

She couldn’t help but gasp at how gorgeous everything looked, her camera capturing shot after shot. Occasionally, she pointed it at Ellison, but the lens quickly shifted away, 

“Mr. Grant, you look amazing in photos, but sadly, I can’t keep any of them on my phone. If someone found them, I’d be doomed,” she teased, snapping a quick shot of him before turning her camera elsewhere. 

Despite all the time they’d spent together, the only photo they had was the one on their marriage certificate. No personal couple shots, no selfie. 

“Tell William to send you a few new phones tomorrow, ones just for private use,” Ellison said, sounding completely unfazed, 

Joycelyn blinked, caught off guard. “Wait, are you serious?”

Joycelyn Maynard smiled. Her smile was especially bright under the sun. 

“One phone is enough, but I heard there are ones with dual systems. You know, where different passwords open separate setups. Can I get one of those?” she asked, her tone playful but curious. 

“Of course. Want the stars too? I’ll grab a couple for you.” Ellison replied smoothly, his voice dripping with effortless charm. That was all it took to melt away Joycelyn’s lingering worries. 

In that moment, everything felt light and uncomplicated, like they were just a normal couple enjoying each other’s company. 

She couldn’t resist anymore and held up her phone, taking their first selfie together. The wind on the deck was wild, tossing their hair around like it had its own plans.
