“I was such a shrew.” Freya pouted.

“No, everything you said was right–completely justified.” Louis cupped her face, his voice. dripping with affection. “You were stunning when you said all that.”

Unable to resist, Freya suddenly wrapped her arms around him and sighed. “How are you this perfect? Maybe I came to this world just to meet you.”

Louis held her tight, his voice dropping lower. “Then you’ll have to stay. No leaving.”

“Mhm. As long as you don’t betray me in this lifetime, I won’t go anywhere.” Freya tilted her head up and impulsively kissed his chin–just because she wanted to.

Louis shuddered, then lifted her face from his chest and captured her lips in a deep kiss.

By the time they broke apart, Freya’s entire face was flushed. She buried herself against Louis‘ chest, too embarrassed to look up. Louis, grinning more openly than ever, asked, “Not watching the movie anymore?”

“I am! I’ve been studying facial expressions and body language for my writing.” Freya bolted upright, keeping her eyes glued to the screen as if to prove her dedication.

Louis chuckled and hit play, letting her play the ostrich.

Early on, Freya had worried Louis might pressure her to let him stay overnight. Thankfully, he never did. He always booked the room next door, and when it was time to sleep, he’d leave without her having to say a word.

The next day, Louis left, and Freya stayed with the crew for another week. Since the other actors were reliable, no further issues arose. Everyone cooperated, and filming progressed smoothly–not just catching up on lost time but even getting ahead of schedule.

That night, they were shooting a late scene. Freya’s workload wasn’t heavy, so by late afternoon, she was in high spirits, scrolling through her phone and debating what to eat for dinner. Then Louis called unexpectedly early.

“Are you still on set?”

“Yes, why?” Freya found it odd he usually called much later.

“Waylon says Ms. Jasmine is heading your way. She’s unfamiliar with the area, so he asked if
