Chapter 277 Teamwork Make The Dream Work
“You can’t possibly buy everything you like, can you?” Freya asked.
“If you like it, you buy it.” Louis signaled to the sales associate to have the purchases delivered later, the
turned to Freya. “From now on, if you see something you like, just get it. Clothes and things like that don’t cost much. You don’t even have to wear them–if just looking at them makes you happy, then it’s worth it.”
Freya use?”
was stunned, half–convinced she’d misheard. “Buy things just to look at them? Not to
“Yes. If it brings you joy, then the money is well spent.” Louis doubled down. “If nothing here
designer’s catches your eye today, we can shop elsewhere later. Or if you prefer a particul style, we can place custom orders.”
“That’s too much hassle.” Freya shook her head. “This is enough for me for a long time.”
Aiden frowned with all the seriousness of a tiny judge. “Freya, you’re being way too hard on yourself. Even middle–class families have more clothes than this. Don’t hold back for Uncle’s sake–it’ll hurt his pride. What’s the point of working hard if he can’t even spoil his wife properly?”
Freya shook her head again. “There are plenty of meaningful ways to spend money. Charity, for one. Or funding research that helps people but doesn’t bring big returns. Or taking on social responsibility to protect the environment. If you put money into those, you might even feel like there’s never enough.”
She sighed heavily. “As much as I love these things, I can’t help thinking–what if this money went to people who actually need it? Wouldn’t that be better?”
Aiden blinked, then shot Louis a knowing look. “Uncle, now I get why you like Freya so much.”
No kidding. Every other woman who’d ever chased after Louis had been obsessed with luxury bran None of them would’ve spared a thought for the things Freya just mentioned. Those women would emptied the stores without a second glance. Only Freya–this absolute oddball–bought things just to maintain appearances while her real concern was doing good.
Louis‘ eyes softened with unmistakable fondness as he ruffled Freya’s hair.
“Don’t overthink it. Once the business stabilizes, the company will allocate significant funds to charity every year. That was Grandfather’s firmest principle–giving back to society is

non–negotiable.”
Then his tone shifted.
“But making money isn’t just about philanthropy. That kind of change can’t come from one person alone–we just do our part. Still, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying the fruits of our labor. Buy what you want. If it worries you, you can gradually take over the charity initiatives later. It’d be a good way to stay busy.”
Aiden nodded eagerly. “Yeah! Lots of wealthy couples split duties–husbands handle business, wives manage charity work. Teamwork makes the dream work!”
Teamwork makes the dream work, that’s the real marriage material.
Aiden grinned to himself.
If Freya took on charity work, she’d be too busy to even glance at other men. It was only a matter of time before she officially became Uncle’s wife.
