Chapter 310 Room by Room
45 Frea Gaine
Louis flicked Freya lightly on the forehead. It didn’t hurt–but it was something he usually only did to Aiden. Naturally, Freya protested.
“Why’d you flick me?”
“No reason. You’re cute.”
The compliment came out of nowhere. Just as the heat in her cheeks had started to fade, it flared up again. She had no idea Louis had already made up his mind to never let her near an electric bike again.
“What were you looking at, standing there so long?” Louis reached for the wardrobe.
“Nothing!” Freya grabbed his hand and quickly pulled him in the opposite direction. “There’s nothing over there. Let’s check out the rest,”
As they walked, she gestured dramatically toward the window. “I think putting a rocking chair by the window would look even better. And maybe a rug next to the coffee table would really tie everything together.”
Louis smiled and let her lead him away from the wardrobe, humoring her fake seriousness with calm indulgence. “Sure. Whatever you say–it’s your house too.”
Freya led him out of the bedroom. “We haven’t seen the rest yet. Let’s go look at Aiden’s room.”
Marilyn was waiting for them in the hallway and brought them over to Aiden’s bedroom.
It had a sleek, mechanical aesthetic–clean lines, high–tech devices, and every kind of model a boy could want. The room was big enough to include a desk area for studying, all tucked neatly inside. Freya could already imagine how much Aiden would love this place.
“He’s going to be so happy with this,” she said, her tone laced with a hint of envy. When she was little, she’d always dreamed of having a special room of her own. But her family didn’t have much, so her childhood bedroom was just like everyone else’s–simple, standard, nothing special.
“As long as he’s happy. Saves us the trouble of him complaining later,” Louis replied casually.
Next, they checked out the gym. Freya was overwhelmed by the rows of equipment. “Are we actually going to work out at home?”

“If you don’t like it, we can always go out.”
“Wow, there’s so much here.” Freya had never been to a real gym before, but from what she’d seen on TV, this setup had everything–and then some. It was like a full–scale fitness center.
“You spend a lot of time at your computer. You should move around more. Sitting too long isn’t good for your health.” That was Louis’s real reason for installing the gym.
Freya nodded obediently. “Got it. I’ll make sure this stuff doesn’t go to waste.”
The rest of the rooms were more basic, just functional spaces, and after circling through them all, Freya had a good sense of the layout.
All she needed to work was a computer. Everything else was just a bonus. “Okay, we’ve seen it all. I really like this place.”
“Then you can start picking out whatever else you need to fill it up,” Marilyn said with a bright smile, clearly pleased that Freya approved.
“Huh? We still need more stuff?” Freya looked around. Everything already seemed complete.
“There’s still plenty of everyday items—cups, plates, towels, and all that. I’ve only stocked the basics. Whatever you prefer, just let me know and I’ll swap them in.”
Marilyn didn’t mention the other personal–use items. It wasn’t really her place.
Freya immediately understood. “Oh, right! I still need to go shopping.”
“I’ll come with you,” Louis offered. He figured she might not be able to carry everything herself.
She thought about it and realized he was probably right–she really did have a lot to buy. So she didn’t refuse.
They headed to the supermarket and did a massive shopping spree. It wasn’t until they were hauling their full carts back to the car, bags in hand, that Freya suddenly realized–why hadn’t they just had everything delivered?
Louis was the type who cared deeply about quality of life. It was lucky that Freya was also someone who valued a certain/standard, or he probably wouldn’t have taken a second look at
