Freya never would’ve imagined that he’d actually say something like that, and the worst part was, George looked completely serious. He clearly wasn’t joking.
“Thank you for thinking so highly of me, but my husband and I are very much in love. Whether he’s rich or not, handsome or not, none of that affects how much I care about him,” Freya answered him sincerely.
Kendrick didn’t even dare look at Louis‘ face.
They came here for a party, and somehow managed to run into someone bold enough, and matched enough, to try and steal his girl. This kind of wild plot twist wouldn’t even make it into a TV show.
Of course, Louis was furious, but the second he heard Freya’s declaration of love, his anger vanished instantly.
“Sorry, but I have no intention of divorcing my wife. We love each other deeply. Fortunately, my wife isn’t a shallow woman, so I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed, Mr. George. I can understand the urgency someone might feel when they’re struggling to find the right partner, but these things come down to character, luck, and a little bit of fate. You can’t force it. It’s better to wait.”
Kendrick and Baylon both rolled their eyes inwardly. Yup, Louis was as sharp–tongued as ever.Urgency in finding a partner? Character, luck, and fate? Please, he was just calling George unlucky, low on charm, and lacking fate with Freya.
And even in the middle of shutting someone down, he still managed to throw in a bit of public affection. Unbelievable.
George, however, looked entirely unfazed. “I fell for your wife the moment I saw her. She’s exactly the kind of woman I’ve always dreamed of marrying. Sure, your relationship is great now, but that doesn’t mean it’ll always stay that way. I’ll wait for your divorce.”
After addressing Louis, he turned to Freya.
“My beautiful lady, I know exactly what kind of man your husband is. I’m far more interesting and romantic than he is. You don’t have to give me an answer now–take your time and consider it seriously. As the head of the Kenov family, my wealth is beyond your imagination. Marry me, and you’ll be unbelievably happy.”
Freya couldn’t help but laugh in disbelief; she shook her head.
“Sorry, but I don’t believe in love at first sight. Any feelings based purely on appearances are way too shallow. You might see another pretty girl later and forget all about me. And while I don’t appreciate how forward you’ve been, I still hope you enjoy your evening. I won’t keep you–do as you please.”
With that, Freya grabbed Louis‘ hand, ready to leave. In her eyes, George was clearly just some kind of weirdo with a few screws loose.
Who the heck talks about love at first sight when they’ve just met, and then still tries to steal someone’s wife after finding out she’s married? That’s not romance, that’s a red flag. Louis was absolutely right about this guy’s
character.
As they headed to the other side of the room, Baylon couldn’t help his curiosity.

“Freya, I haven’t seen you in a few days, and your charm’s basically shot through the roof. The head of the Kenov family fell for you at first sight–didn’t even care that you’re married–and is just waiting for you and Louis to split. You sure you’ve never met him before?”
Freya couldn’t hold it in anymore and rolled her eyes.
“I’m either at home or going to the company with your Louis. When I go out shopping, someone’s always with me. Where exactly would I run into this Mr. George? And with that face of his–if I had met him, how could I possibly forget? I don’t recognize him at all, okay? God only knows what kind of twisted logic that man lives by.”
