Married Ex-Fiancé’s Uncle (Abigail) novel Chapter 117

Chapter 117 A Good Price
After venting her anger, Patricia finally got to the point.

"Now, tell me—where's that Abigail brat hiding?"

No one answered her. The room fell into an awkward silence.

It was Harry who finally nudged Patricia and pointed toward Abigail. "Grandma, isn't that her?"

Patricia squinted and focused her gaze on Abigail, who had been sitting quietly this whole time.

She thought, "Hmm, not bad. This girl is even prettier than Caroline, with a better figure to boot. If I offered Abigail to the Collins family, they'd probably accept her without complaint. And just like that, Patricia wouldn't have to return the wedding gift."

With this plan forming in her head, Patricia didn't waste a second. "So, you're Abigail, right? If you're my real granddaughter, then this marriage is your responsibility. You'll marry the Collins family's youngest son, John."

Abigail had seen shameless people before, but this? This was a whole new level.

"I won't agree to it." Before Abigail could even respond, a cold, commanding voice rang out from the doorway. Everyone turned to see William striding in, his face dark with anger.

Ignoring Patricia and her entourage entirely, William walked straight over to Abigail and positioned himself in front of her, shielding her from view. "Abigail is my daughter. As long as I'm alive, no one will lay a finger on her."

Looking at his broad, protective back, Abigail felt her nose sting with emotion. "Dad, why are you back so early?"

"The shop was slow this morning," William said, glancing over his shoulder at her. His stern expression softened as he reassured her, "I thought I'd come back and have breakfast with you. Abigail, don't worry. As long as I'm here, no one will bully you."
