Felicia gazed at Abigail’s face, and the memory of that thin, almost breathless little face overlapped with the present. She pressed her cheek gently against Abigail’s, her heart aching.
The nine–hour flight was far from easy, but although Abigail looked pale, she did not fuss or make a scene, which made Felicia feel even more distressed.
“If you feel uncomfortable anywhere, you must tell Mommy. The new medicine is a bit bitter–can you drink it, sweetheart?”
“I can!”
Abigail’s face was slightly pale, and Felicia felt a bit worried. She calculated the time and had Abigail take her medicine early before they got off the plane.
Gideon had already bought a house in Portland, so Felicia did not have to worry about taking Abigail to stay in a hotel.
After taking her medicine, Abigail had recovered a bit. Her small hand clung tightly to Felicia as she looked timidly at the unfamiliar surroundings.
“Is this Mommy’s hometown? Daddy showed me pictures of it.”
At the mention of Gideon, Felicia’s expression stiffened a little. She nodded to Abigail and said, “Yes, once you feel better, Mommy will take you all around here, and we’ll bring home all the dolls you like, all right?”
“Okay!”
Abigail, whose face bore a striking resemblance to Felicia’s, looked a little more flushed.
Felicia was just about to take Abigail toward the exit.
But Abigail stopped and said, “Mommy, isn’t that the person from the photo?”
“Photo? What photo?”
The people in the pile of photos Daddy had Jacques bring.
Before Abigail could finish speaking, she saw that Felicia was already looking at the person she had pointed out.
Joshua’s body instantly became rigid.

Chapter 24
Whitney, following Joshua’s gaze in confusion, suddenly widened her eyes.
“Felicia…”
Joshua looked at Felicia with a gaze full of longing and pain.

He looked at the little girl beside Felicia, who was cute and lively, about five years old, and bore a strong resemblance to Felicia.
She said he was the person in the photo…
So Felicia had kept his photo all this time.
The little girl… was she his?
Clearly, Whitney thought so too.
Whitney hurriedly gripped Joshua’s hand, but the man pulled away from her.
She wanted to remind Joshua that they were here to pick up their son today, but she did not even get a chance to speak.
Joshua’s eyes were deep, his voice trembling: “Feli, you’re back. I’ve been looking for you for five years…”
Felicia was a little speechless.
She had not expected to run into the person she least wanted to see right after leaving the airport.
Even the melancholy she felt upon returning to her hometown was largely dispelled.
She greeted them rather indifferently: “Long time no see. Abby, say hello.”
Abigail obeyed at once: “Hello, everyone! I’m Abigail Delgado!”
“Abigail…”
The fact that Abigail bore her mother’s surname only made Joshua more certain that the child was
his.
He stepped forward and grabbed Felicia’s wrist: “Feli, five years ago it was my fault. The child…”
Seeing his misunderstanding, Felicia quickly pulled her hand away and took two steps back: “Sorry, the child is not yours.”
But it was obvious that neither Joshua nor Whitney believed her.
“Ms. Delgado, I am already married to Josh, and our child is also five years old. I hope you will

not do anything to destroy someone else’s family.”

Perhaps because she was too anxious, Whitney completely disregarded Joshua’s presence and spoke bluntly.
Felicia was a little speechless and really did not want to get entangled with them, but she also found Whitney’s words rather amusing.
“Ms. Osborn–oh no, now it’s Mrs. Crawford–I’m truly shocked to hear you say not to destroy someone else’s family. After all, five years ago, you practiced that principle quite thoroughly yourself.”
Whitney’s face instantly turned pale.
At that moment, the person who had come to pick them up walked over, took Felicia’s luggage, and said respectfully, “Madam, Miss, this way please.”
“Madam? You took my child and married someone else?”
